  1. make sure that you disable "Task Bar Jumplist" and "Recent Items More"(if you have)
  2. that why i'm saying with browser monitoring, system monitoring will be redundant...no other way to make a 1gb of temp from normal usage the frequency of checking every 8 hours for me is too quick i hope we can have the option to change the frequency
  3. make sure that ccleaner is not running in the background check whether on the tray icon or using task manager
  4. lol...then what about active monitoring? everyday?every hour? and i do hope we can change this..if we set to 2gb,how pc usage in 8 hours can get 2gb of temp files? or even if we set to 0.5gb, with browser monitoring, this will be redundant
  5. better if you can provide screenshot
  6. from the thread given by @SMalik http://news.jrsoftware.org/news/innosetup/msg97204.html might be better to put Warning
  7. by enabling System Monitoring or Browser Monitoring, Active Monitoring will be enable too if Active Monitoring for CC update, what about option to check for update in "Settings"?
  8. from the link given by @Augeas you should only read "AppData\Roaming at home" if you're not connected to any corporate environment might be Recent Document if the file name ended with .lnk extension, it is Recent Document
  9. you can right click > "add to exclude list" if you don't want it to appear on every scan
  10. just put the winapp2.ini in the lang folder or outside ccleaner folder when you want to use winapp2.ini, just put it back in and press F5 on ccleaner this will load the winapp2.ini or simply rename it then change back to winapp2.ini when you need
  11. this is from Timothy(MG) can we still download the older slim version when newer version is out? just curious
  12. did you use the "original" winapp2.ini or only [*GCP - xx] entries? if you're using the "original" winapp2.ini + [*GCP - xx] entries, you need to do some changes for the chrome entries inside "original" winapp2.ini for example, [Application Cache*] LangSecRef=3029 SpecialDetect=DET_CHROME DetectFile2=%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome DetectFile4=%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome Default=False FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome*\User Data\*\Application Cache|*.*|REMOVESELF FileKey5=%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\*\Application Cache|*.*|REMOVESELF CustomLocation1 enable CCleaner to detect your portable profile but the cleaning part didn't use special key as you can see for [*GCP - Internet Cache] which is SpecialKey1=N_CHROME_CACHE ,instead it use different path which is FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome*\User Data\*\Application Cache|*.*|REMOVESELF point the filekey to your portable profile and you can have almost the same cleaning as installed version because for portable version, you only need to clean the profile folder btw, i don't use chrome and i don't know if this will help you but i've done the same thing for my ff portable
  13. the "Chrome" only allow you to enable or disable extension, not program like MSConfig this is different from OP so you might need to create new thread regarding this problem it is better if you can provide a screenshot of your problem
  14. you can create your own personal entries by using the code inside winapp.ini and winapp2.ini to suit your needs even i have my own personal entries to suit my needs unless the dev create a way to detect custom install location, changing the entries manually will be the best or you can use symbolic links
  15. FileKey1=C:\temp|history this will delete "history" file in temp folder
  16. this is what inside winapp2.ini related to cleaning automaticdestination folder you can use this entry inside your winsys2.ini or you can go to winapp2.ini thread which will provide more cleaning option but with additional risk go here http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=32310 please read the spoiler before using winapp2.ini [Recent Items More*] LangSecRef=3025 DetectFile=%AppData%\Microsoft\windows\recent\customdestinations Default=False Warning=Running this will remove task lists from the start menu (the expandable triangle next to some applications) FileKey1=%AppData%\Microsoft\windows\recent\automaticdestinations|*.*|RECURSE FileKey2=%AppData%\Microsoft\windows\recent\customdestinations|*.*|RECURSE
  17. how bout right click at the address bar and choose Delete History ? ccleaner without winapp2.ini should be able to delete the address by choosing Other Explorer MRUs which will delete this line RegKey12=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TypedPaths source: http://www.guidingtech.com/17977/delete-windows-explorer-address-bar-history/ could you paste here the entry that you use to solve this problem?
  18. this problem only happened to older version of CCleaner update your CCleaner to latest version v4.16 and report back here and it is also helpful if you can state your OS and chrome version http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
  19. only registry as the backup option only appear when cleaning registry, not file
  20. duplicate entries maybe the dev can tweak winapp.ini entry to include [Common Language Runtime Logs*] and [Microsoft CLR Logs*] into [Windows Log Files] or combine both entries for winapp2.ini [Common Language Runtime Logs*] LangSecRef=3025 Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows Default=False FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\CLR_v*.*|*.*|RECURSE FileKey2=%WinDir%\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\CLR_v*.*|*.*|RECURSE FileKey3=%WinDir%\System32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CLR_v*.*|*.*|RECURSE FileKey4=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\CLR_v*.*|*.*|RECURSE FileKey5=%WinDir%\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CLR_v*.*|*.*|RECURSE [Microsoft CLR Logs*] LangSecRef=3025 DetectFile1=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\CLR_v2.0 DetectFile2=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\CLR_v2.0_32 DetectFile3=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\CLR_v4.0_32 DetectFile4=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\CLR_v4.0_32 Default=False FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\CLR_*|*.log|RECURSE [Windows Log Files] ID=1017 LangSecRef=3003 LangRef=3145 Default=True FileKey31=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\CLR_v4.0\*|*.log FileKey32=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\CLR_v4.0_32\*|*.log FileKey33=%SystemDirectory%\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\CLR_v4.0\*|*.log FileKey34=%SystemDirectory%\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\CLR_v4.0_32\*|*.log
  21. i don't have any problem listing Filehippo as alternative download(for older version listing) but i prefer to remove cnet and maybe replace it with Majorgeeks maybe its just me but i don't see any "Download" ads there hope piriform can do this changes
  22. well, i don't use eset anymore so i don't know about this entry too just asking incase the entry need that specific detection sorry if you felt annoyed with the question its just that i like to ask till i get/know the answer
  23. weird..now, both are working dunno why is there a reason why the entry need those em*_*-* when you can simply use * to replace em*_*-* ? so that the entry become *.dat.bak instead of em*_*-*.dat.bak or to make it simpler, *.bak yes, it is https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s=57484dc4fe808637b37cd93598665123&showtopic=150498
  24. change to *.bak or is it still need em__*-*.dat? can you try this? i just add \ after HKCU\Software\Paint.NET seem working for me
