  1. I don't quite understand what you mean Hazel...
  2. Maybe I should create an standalone thread but MSE has been updated today to v4.3.215.0 via Windows Update.
  3. Agreed with the disk zones notion. I think it's the only thing I like about MyDefrag.
  4. I advise strongly against NTFS compression. I/O operations become slower and you get a lot of fragmentation. You can NTFS compress static data such as applications (Program files), but anything else (specially files that are modified/written frequently) is not advisable. Also, it's seems to be common lore that when disk issues arise, recovery options are slimmer when NTFS compression is used.
  5. Unless you wasn't getting the option to opt-out it's not a big issue, isn't it? We should be grateful CC is free.
  6. I made the jump to Firefox a long time ago (after being a long time Opera fan). This post is making me shun Opera further.
  7. Maybe doing an AVAST clean installation would help. But that means you must tinker with registry keys and such.
  8. I've seen this behaviour even with the newest Avast 8.x installed.
  9. I have also noticed this. I think the installers are to blame.
  10. PDF Split and Merge Not sure about this one: Briss
  11. I am still using some software that require Java. I have installed this update.
  12. This is new to me. On my old AMD Phenom processor microcode updates came via bios update.
  13. Try clicking the AVISO tab. It seems S.M.A.R.T. is reporting something may be bad with the hard drive. Pulsa en la pestaña AVISO. Parece que S.M.A.R.T. está informando de que algo puede estar mal con el disco duro.
  14. +10 to what Andavari said. The newer download manager in Firefox just sucks. I have accidentally closed Firefox while downloads were running a lot of times.
  15. Agreed. Someone else had a similar issue with Zone Alarm.
  16. What files do you intend to put at the beggining of the disk? The only idea that crosses my mind are those pertaining to booting (layout.ini *.pf files).
  17. The pound weight measure word in Spanish = "Libra" is the identical same as the zodiac sign "Libra" (the scales), so lb abbreviation seems quite natural to Spanish speakers.
  18. I still don't see any reason for me to jump into the Win8 bandwagon. I know it's somewhat more optimized than Seven, but I do not like its awkward interface.
  19. Agreed to what MTA posted. He is right. I think most of us are compulsive defraggers.
  20. I think DF won't offer suggestions. I always advise to use the quick defrag option and you should defrag on a month by month basis or when fragmentation is heavy.
  21. Raxco's Perfectdisk Free edition. http://www.raxco.com/home/pdfree.aspx I didn't know Raxco had released a free version of its defragmenting suite. It works well and it's nice because: 1. It's FREE. 2. It has both x86 and x64 versions 3. It can fully defragment the MFT by doing a boot-time defrag.
  22. I like metal a lot (trash and other heavier variants too). Creating a heavy metal degree sounds just awesome and cool.
  23. Yes. You are right. But I have tried removing that rule (it was for quick defrag anyway) and it's still the same. Any more ideas?
