that's a little more difficult to do since the start icon isn't in shell32.dll IIRC, you need to make your own skin which adds an icon in there.

i've had the first problem where the thingy didn't give me an IP address. i went to bed, restarted the comp, and then it worked. i think that it happened with 1.28 too.

do you have WSH(Windows Scripting Host) installed?

Control Panel > Add & Remove Software or CCleaner > Tools just try uninstalling it and see what happens. if that doesnt work, you should use SymNRT

nope. a lot of times if wallpapers don't have a "Download to Desktop" button, you can click "Zoom In" to get a better picture. after that, right click and save it.

"If I Recall Correctly" if you want to get some themes, you might wanna check out deviantArt for some. the one that i use currently is LunaElement so if you want to check it out and even use it, you are free to do so . also it comes with a self installer which puts it in C:\WINDOWS\Resource\Themes so you don't have to do all the work.

well. i used a program called Replacer(mentioned above) to do the desired effect but i dunno if it will fix anything. might as well try. also are you using Windows XP? IIRC, there are diffrent versions of the file between SP1 and SP2.

a lot of commercial Registry Cleaners suck in the sense that they mess up various parts of your system. the only ones that i use are CCleaner and RegSeeker. CCleaner never causes a problem but RegSeeker detects more entries so if you decide do use that, then you might consider making a backup first.

yeah DC++ is the best p2p client that i've ever used. but you have to know where to connect though . i usually connect to a hub which has about 2000 users so that i can find ppl with files easily. but i mostly use ?Torrent for p2p since BitTorrent has a lot of stuff that other p2p doesn't usually have such as whole albums and a lot of other stuff.

why don't you just manually find a good proxy and then use it? Proxys are kinda useless unless you're trying to get into a place where you are banned.
