  1. it's too bad that regedit doesn't even save the file.
  2. ummm yeah i did. just so you know, regedit is the tool made by Microsoft to browse the registry. i believe i have already stated that it can't find it . @Andvari: i pretty much mean every program besides CCleaner can't find it; even other Registry Cleaners. as for the Rootkit Revealer, i'll try it.
  3. i've already answered that last question in my first post
  4. there's really no point beacuse my computer is very protected but since you asked,
  5. anyone wanna tell me why it only appears in CCleaner and why other programs such as RegEdit and RegSeeker can't find it? edit:i almost forgot. CCleaner can't delete it.
  6. that doesn't help at all. it just tells the computer what OS to run (depends if you have multiple partitions on your HD)
  7. pff. just go to the main website and dl it there. no point in waiting.
  8. http://www.filehippo.com/download_zonealarm_free/ it released 2 days ago and i'm wondering whether i should get it or not. originally, it was the firewall that i loved but when the TrueVector service started crashing, i couldn't use it anymore. i know that it says that it was fixed in the changelog but has anyone tried it yet?
  9. rridgely: if you look around that website, you'll find an interview with one of the developers of Paint.NET
  10. which redirects to www.warrenpaint.com
  11. doesn't work under Mono. maybe it will but not perfectly since it was designed to run on Windows XP/Vista only. also this wasn't a major release. this was just a port of 2.5 to the .NET Framework and a couple of bug fixes. the next version which is 3.0 or 2.7 will have a bunch of new features.
  12. my apoligies. i never knew that
  13. yeah i told him on IRC because when i did, i couldn't register due to the problem. it was solved thanks to krit86lr for giving me an email with his ISP.
  14. i didn't post it. i joined the irc channel and told DEATH. apperantly he is one of the developers since he said that he will add a "hackfix"
  15. that's true. a lot of open source applications such as OpenOffice and even commercial appliactions use p2p as a way of distrobution to conserve bandwidth
  16. it's the user's fault for going to a website like that. also the more extensions you have, the slower firefox loads. i had about 10 of em once and when i started it, it loaded for about 4 or 5 seconds. without extensions, it's kinda slower.
  17. the most user friendly would have to be Shareaza which can connect to 4 sepperate networks. but i don't use it much since i like BitTorrent better(Shareaza's BitTorrent capabilities suck). for BitTorrent, i recommend ?Torrent which should mean MicronTorrent due to it's incredible small size.
  18. if all the bugs and security flaws are fixed, then i might start to use IE7 myself. well except if it's skinnable because when i tried the IE7 Beta Preview, i puked upon seeing the new GUI.
  19. i don't like it because it loads slow and it doesnt have a lot of useful built in features like Opera does. edit:this is useful for me because the only browser that my dad uses is IE because he doesnt like Firefox, Opera, or anything else. also since i have Spybot which i've Immunized, SpywareBlaster, and Sygate, im good.
  20. you are wrong, partially. the Brico Pack installer replaces it instead of patching it.
  21. that last step doesnt work on people with cable . also mine was already set to the max edit:wow. i can already see the diffrence. when i click a link, it takes less than a second to load. even pages like torrentspy. very amazing. using IE6 btw.

    WinME

i forgot to mention this but it's better to get Windows XP Home or Professional because i remember an article on Softpedia stating that Microsoft will discontinue their support for Windows 2000. i don't remember the date but either it's already happened or it will very soon.
  23. no. here's what's happening. in order for any program to have a skin, they have to use uxtheme.dll . that file is responsible for setting the skin and other settings(if you run "RunDllAsApp "uxtheme.dll", then it will show the Display thing in Control Panel). now since you've replaced the original file, every program is supposed to use it. BUT, if the file is in the same folder as the program that's being run, then it will use another skin set by a sepperate uxtheme.dll file since exlorer.exe and uxtheme.dll are in the same folder, exlorer.exe will use the one in C:\WINDOWS instead of the one in C:\WINDOWS\system32. so what you have to do is, Kill explorer using Task Manager, browse to C:\WINDOWS(I used 7-Zip but a lot of programs that have a view like that will work), and then delete the uxtheme.dll(you can because it isnt being used by any program). after that, go to the Task Manager, click File > Run, and select exlorer.exe. after that it should work. please not that you have to do my instructions first above. and also no you dont need to remove it from the cache folder because that folder is meant to replace important system files if they've been replaced. in other words, no program uses the uxtheme.dll file that's in there. edit:i forgot to mentino but after you've killed explorer.exe, you cant use the regular Folders because they are a part of explorer.exe which isnt running. as i mentioned, an application like 7-Zip, WinZip, WinRAR, or anything else that can browse folders will work
  24. yeah i found that as well but i can't remember how. prolly a google search on "foobar2000 IRC" instead of "foobar IRC". i reported a bug where foobar2000 can't read the tags properly. DEATH said that the tags were at the beginning of the file which was messed up. well he said he'll add a hackfix so im good
  25. Are you using a Brico pack by any chance? also if you are, can i get my hands on that ObjectDock skin that you have there? i want it.
