  1. I believe that downloading the CCleaner portable version all language files are included in the package Edit: Oppss ! lang-1033.dll is missing. No idea which language it would contain Update: Seems that the reference for hebrew language .dll file is lang-1037.dll

    B.S.O.D.

Thank you very much, honestly i don't have other questions.

    B.S.O.D.

Tada! -------------------------------------------- The problem seems to be caused by the following file: ssdefrag.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA -------------------------------------------- I don't want hurt your privacy, of course May you please provide some more info about your s.o., and about the type of files saved on the drive that was analyzed before crash? Eg. size of drive, system file, free space, and if does it contains small or big files, compressed and/or uncompressed, etc... I'm just investigating about a similar crash i had, (see: Forum Link) and every further info will be very appreciate. Thanks
  4. Since we are in this thread, i've noticed that Defraggler shows red-fragmented and blue-defragmented squares. Then there are some squares having a different color, violet or more light blue, that indicate, i suppose, the clusters being read/examined/defragmented/moved (don't know). That color is too much similar to blue, hard to see the difference. Changing that color would be not only an "aesthetical" improvement, also may help users to notice that Defraggler is still working, and not frozen or stopped.

    Translations?

Translating the exe is quite unuseful, since this is not the official way. What i have posted some days ago was just a joke. I have deleted that screenshot from my previous post, since was not my intention to foolish people, i apologize Recuva developers need an online translation, that will be transformed in a .dll file to include in the installer. Please send a private message to MrG for this
  6. Please read "Pinned:How to start Recuva in debug mode"
  7. Thanks, i know perfecly how work the index.dat deletion The fact is that CCleaner doesn't detect/delete mine at all, as said above
  8. Still no luck with my index.dat file Still not detected nor cleaned by CCleaner. (it doesn't appears as "marked for deletion" after Analyze). Location: G:\Cache Internet\File temporanei Internet\Content.IE5 All other Temporary Files in this location are correctly detected and cleaned. All but index.dat. I can't realize why other softwares (tried SuperCleaner, IndexDat Suite, IndexDat QV) can easily detect, read, and clean this... evil file with no problems I know CCleaner use a "Special Key" (1=N_INT_INDEXDAT) for this feature, so i can't do any kind of further... investigation. I guess there is something wrong in my system that doesn't allow CCleaner to detect it, but no idea where to find the wrong thing. If someone have an idea about which registry keys i can verify for fix this issue would be very appreciate. Thanks in advance Win XP Sp2 fully patched IE7.0.5730.11 (Note: i'm the only admin/user of my pc, no passwords at Windows startup, no problems of admin's privileges/permissions, and so on... )
  9. I'have installed/reinstalled CCleaner at least 100 times in my life, and it NEVER installed Yahoo! Toolbar. No needs to say more
  10. - Improved index.dat cleaning on XP I was looking forward for this since almost 3 months. Thank you
  11. Since we are in this thread, i suggest to shorten the "This file is overwritten with" sentence. Eg. changing it with "File overwritten with" or "File overwritten by" or simply "Overwritten by". The strings under 'Comments' column are very often cutted, also enlarging Recuva to full screen mode (consider i own a 20" widescreen monitor)
  12. Thanks I'm wondering the culprit were some very big files (about 2 or 3 GB) saved on that drive (ghost images made by Acronis True Image). After i have wiped them from the disk, Defraggler Analyze complete with no more problems. However, before delete those files, that drive was defragged flawless using the default Windows tool. Also running on it Checkdisk and Scandisk no issues were found.
  13. Perhaps the drive to be defragmented contains some huge files? I'm making some tests on an external drive i use for save ghost images of my system. While i'm writing this post, Defraggler is defragging a partition containing an image sized about 3 GB, and it seems currently stopped at 41% since about 10 minutes. Not frozen, i can clearly hear the HD still working...
  14. AFAIK Recuva install always english language by default, and another language choosen by user during the install process. In my case i can switch between english (that is built-in into the exe file) and italian (that is a .dll file located in the program folder). If you have selected english during install no other languages have been installed.
  15. Just tried Defraggler on my external USB drive (to be clear, i mean an hard disk in USB box, not a pen drive). This disk have 2 partitions, both using FAT32 system file. Analyzing the first 15 GB partition all works fine. Analyzing the second one (65 GB) cause a computer restart (about at 40% of analysis progress). Tried four or five times, and every time i get the same behaviour. My computer restart with no visible crashes, just restart. I wonder this can be due to something wrong on my system, but would be nice if some other user having an external USB drive make some test and/or investigation. Thanks
  16. Sorry, "Defrag All" would have not the same effect of "Defrag Drive"?
  17. I like it very much as currently is. Please don't make it become a... giant application with a lot of unuseful crap (options, logs, statistics, and so on). There are a lot of defraggers out of there made in that way. I like it as is, one light exe file only, and nothing else. Of course, being a beta, some improvements will be needed, but don't exagerate. Just my opinion (Sorry for bad english, as usual. Hope it's at least a bit understandable what i mean)
  18. I'm testing Defragler on my system. Windows XP Pro sp2 - 3 partitions on my HD. My first impression is very very good ! It works fast and flawless. After defrag i have analyzed the partitions using the Windows tool, and it report 0% of fragmented files. My compliments !
  19. Of course [path_to_image] need to be replaced with a real path, for get it working, as explained on the site itself: Please copy these files onto your server rather than referencing them directly. You'll need to edit the html to reference the correct image location.
  20. Why not a simple link to the official Piriform downloads webpage?
  21. That is the XP default location for Temporary Internet Files. Mines are moved in a different partition and path (G:\Cache Internet\File Temporanei Internet\) and CCleaner find and delete all them with no problems. The only issue i currently have (started since previous 1.4x versions, at least 3 months ago) is with index.dat file, not detected nor deleted. Probably this is due to something wrong on my s.o. , but can't realize why other softwares can still find, read, and delete my index.dat file as always.
  22. Sorry for the stupid solution (LOL), but if someone doesn't like to have Windows Events logged, what about disable events logging in Windows Services, instead to ask for CCleaner to delete them?
  23. ... or, when Recuva will be translated in other languages, many captions will exceed the space available there. Thanks
  24. Indeed the cookies are deleted as always. Try keeping the Cookies folder open in background and run CCleaner. You will see that folder emptied in real time. What is not deleted are some files referring (or linked, don't know) to cookies, having the same filename of cookies prefixed by 'cookie:' (eg. username@sitename.com > cookie:username@sitename.com ) saved in the Temporary Internet Files directory. I'm not enough skilled for understand why this happens, never noticed before. Wonder if depends from some recent Windows Security Update
  25. Oopps ! Sorry I have tried also copying some strings directly from Regedit. I need to do some other test, and i'll let you know Edit That's ok, it works perfectly, thanks! About the Button "Add Registry" still not translatable i've replayed to your mail (italian translator here )
