  1. AFAIK CCleaner may have deleted only **the shortcuts to** those files. Indeed this kind of applications make protected files "invisible for Windows", so CCleaner don't do nothing wrong deleting their shortcuts, cause they appears like "unuseful references to not existing files". For MartinJamming: ---------------------- Try this: Go to the folder where Folder Lock is installed (maybe C:\Program Files\FolderLock or C:\Program Files\Netsoftwares\Folder lock or something similar, i don't know). Find the .exe file and double click it. Probably it will ask you the password. Unlock all your protected files/folders, search them on your hard disk (i cant know where they are, of course) and rebuild their shortcuts :-) If don't works, try all this after reboot in Safe Mode. Hope this helps
  2. Found ! PD logs are saved in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Dati applicazioni\Raxco\PerfectDisk\8.0 There are 2 files in here, "PDBootLog.log" and "PDBootLog" (without extension). In my (very humble) opinion, this issue is due to different Windows localization For me, in Italy, "Program Files" is "Programmi" and "Application Data" is "Dati Applicazioni", so CCleaner maybe can't find that folder because, according his winapp.ini file, by default it search for it in: "FileKey1=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\Raxco\PerfectDisk\8.0|PerfectDisk.log -------------------- trying to delete a file named "PerfectDisk.log" that doesn't exist, the correct names of the log files are "PDBootLog.log" and "PDBootLog" I have tweaked my winapp.ini as follow: [PerfectDisk 8.0] LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\Raxco\PerfectDisk\8.0 Default=True FileKey1=%allusersprofile%\Dati Applicazioni\Raxco\PerfectDisk\8.0|PDBootLog.log --------------------- -------------- an now it seems to work fine Hope this helps
  3. Maybe i can answer this question, cause i own Perfect Disk 8 too. The folder where is installed is C:\Programmi (Program Files for english people)\Raxco\Perfect Disk Is very hard (for me ) find where this application save its logs, cause is has also the option to save them in Windows Events. I'll investigate about this, give me some hours...
  4. Was same here, having WinXP Pro and NTFS file system. Just try a cleaning using the IE Tool, as i wrote in my previous message. It seems like the names of Temporary Files that were on the HD before the upgrade of CCleaner are memorized somewhere. After that cleaning all seems to work properly here. About the reset language problem, now i leave the option "Save settings to INI file" unchecked, waiting for a fix.
  5. Other reply to myself This seems definitely fixed after i made a complete clean of my Temporary Internet Files using the "old way" from Internet Explorer Menu: Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files > Delete all offline contents. Thanks TwistedMetal for your reply, bye
  6. Reply to myself This don't happens unchecking the new advanced option "Save all settings to INI file". Hope this helps
  7. Hi all, just installed last release 1.37.456 over the previous, as usual. 1) Language returns to English after each restart of CCleaner (my language is italian, i'm the CCleaner translator ), 2) Just after cleaning, pressing the "Analyze" button it says there are 0 MB to clean (correct), but pressing "Run Cleaner" button, it shows again and again all the crap of Temporary Internet Files. Win XP sp2 patched - browser IE 6. Let me know... thank you
  8. Hi all, scanning for "Issues", CCleaner find always these 2 invalid registry keys (see pic), also just after the cleaning. I think they have something to do with Media Player 9. I tried to delete them manually, using Regedit - HKCR, but Windows (XP - Sp2) says "Error - Impossible to open" at the right click. Any idea? Thank you in advance
  9. Hi all, i keep my Temp (i mean "Temporary Internet Files") on the D: partition, and all works fine, with CCleaner installed on C: partition (same phisical hard disk)
  10. Doesn't delete absolutely the checked applications, but only the "crap" (CCleaner = Crap Cleaner ) regarding those applications. E.g. the MRU Lists (List of recent used files). Ciao
  11. Some millions of people are using Internet Explorer, and never heard about such kind of issue before. So take care about your installed software and your shame, my friend
