  1. You are right YoKenny, sorry, i spoke too early. Indeed is not clear how it does work. Clicking the 'Black-List' button shows just seven black-listed (by default?) toolbars only. I though these should be the only ones it detect as installed, most likely i'm wrong...
  2. Most likely cause these are whitelisted by the program (check Options > White-list)
  3. Oh, now i see what you mean, hazelnut But the button of the default selected/active page is clearly highlighted in blue and underlined. Obviously re-selecting a still selected page nothing happens, the same should happen setting any other page to be shown by default, though...
  4. Hi Lidgeu, as said, AFAIK the Piriform translation system is based on this Web Site: http://translate.piriform.com I don't think the Devs will ever pick up any translated DLLs or edited EXE files from the Forum. Said this, to be clear, i'm just a Piriform products user like you, and can't decide anything in this matter.
  5. Can't confirm. Does work flawlessy here, in both my installed languages english and italian.
  6. If you leave the 'Start on startup' feature enabled in MSN Live, obviously it will resurface again.
  7. In Regular Expressions the wild char '*' stands for 'any alpha-numeric string' Let's say, for instance, you want clean (or exclude) a customized folder named 'My Pictures' The previous versions of CCleaner were cleaning (or excluding) the whole content of that folder. Now you can edit the path to clean, and using the '*' wildchar you can selectively choose which type of file delete (or exclude). For instance, a given path 'My Pictures/*.bmp' will delete (or exclude) all the images of bitmap type only, the path 'My Pictures/*.jpg' will delete (or exclude) all the files of jpg type only, and so on... Using the same wild char before the dot, will filter the files to delete (or exclude) by filename. Eg. 'My Pictures/10*.jpg' will delete (or exclude) all images of .jpg type, IF their name start with 10 (101.jpg, 102.jpg, 10A.jpg, 10A1.jpg, and so on... ) Obviously 'My pictures/10*.*' will delete (or exclude) all type of files IF their name start with 10.
  8. Just noticed that there is also a right click menu: - Edit - Manual Edit - Remove Selected Selecting 'Manual Edit' does work as expected. (i was breaking my brain trying to get rid of those asterisks http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=118910 )
  9. Added Include/Exclude list editing. ---------------------------------------- Thank you very much ! But i can't get the feature working as expected (or i'm doing something wrong?). Eg. editing to clean 'file1.log' instead of '*.*' in a folder, i get as result 'file1*.log*' In other words, can't get rid of those asterisks Edit: never mind, just noticed the right click menu on the entry > manual edit.
  10. In my opinion the fact is that CCleaner handles as 'Applications Cleaning' many stuff that other cleaners declare to be 'Registry Errors'. Just for instance, most of MRU lists. IMO this often foolish people about CCleaner finding "so few" entries scanning the Registry.
  11. I have tested it (and translated it in my language too) just some days ago. In few words, it's somehow a task manager, giving a lot of very detailed infos about any process starting/running on the system. Most of them are for specialists though (or, at least, quite hard to understand for an average skilled user like me )

    Start menu

Windows and Applications cleanings are always performed together at once, doesn't matter which tab is selected. (please have a look at the Beginner's Guide, you can find the link in the pinned topics of this Forum)

    Start menu

Hi, just untick everything also in the Application tab, and leave the checkmark on 'Start Menu Shortcut' only. Then press 'Analyze'. The log will show what CCleaner is going to delete (nothing is deleted running 'Analyze, though). Most likely these will be shortcuts to Applications that are no longer installed on your system. If so, feel free to press 'Run Cleaner'.
  14. If 'several' stands for 'two', then most likely the 'Only delete files in Windows temp folders older than 48 hours' advanced option is activated.
  15. My 'Temp' and 'Temporary Internet Files' folders are not located in the Windows default directories as well (i like to keep them in a separate drive D: ), but CCleaner detect and clean both with no problems. AFAIK CCleaner should read the locations as set in the System Environment Variables. (right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables) Typing '%temp%' or '%tmp%' (without quotes) in the Start > Run dialog does open your temp folders? Note: I'm running XP SP3 though, no idea about Vista.

    Registry

Me at the phone: - "Did you rebooted?" - "Yes" - "Ok, now click Start, Run.. " - "Wait, i can't find it!" - "Look at the bottom, on the left side..." - "I have a bunch of icons there!" - "I said at the left, not right!" - "I don't have that!" - "Ok, can you see a button having a four coloured flag..." - "Ah yes, i see, but mine has write "Start", not "Start Run!" [sorry for the OT]

    Registry

Do you mean a flash movie showing how to right click a file and select Merge? Hope it's not needed (although some friend of mine had troubles finding the Start button as well )
  18. Just a thought... perhaps the system saved a new System Restore Point between the two used space checks? Also the hibernate feature can take some space without give any advice, if enabled. Hint: Keeping Defraggler open while CCleaner is working, i can see the free disk space increasing in real time, here.
  19. No, sorry, i'm not that skilled I was just thinking about something like this: Exclude1=PATH|D:\My Documents\Backup\|cc_200810*.reg For instance, this should delete all the CCleaner .reg backups, keeping the current month ones only.
  20. Hi, can you please tell what's the file name of the Star Office backup files? If they are named by date (like for instance the backup .reg files of CCleaner) maybe something can be done adjusting the deletion routine.

    Registry

I have just made this animated flash demo about the registry cleaning: CCleaner Registry Cleaning Hope this helps
  22. Hi lucabis, welcome to the Forum, install any file downloaded from this Forum is not the right way to translate the Piriform Products. Just wait until the next release, that will correctly install the language .dlls builded by the Defraggler Developers
  23. From the pinned "Tips and Hints" topic: What types of files can't Recuva securely delete? There are 2 types, Files that are resident in the MFT and files of zero size. Resident files are very small files (typically a few hundred bytes) that are so small Windows stores them directly in the MFT. Zero byte files are exactly that, they have no size and therefore have nothing to delete.
  24. First select in Options > General which kind of deletion you want to perfom (1, 3, 7 or 35 passes). Then, after the scan, highlight or select the files, right click the log and select 'Secure Delete Highlighted' or 'Secure Delete Checked'
