  1. What is your drive's capacity??? Maybe the space allocated for restore points in your drive is just too small that it easily fills up and that would automatically clear it and I believe CCleaner has nothing to do with that since even if you use CCleaner's restore point cleaner utility, it will always reserve the latest restore point for system safety so I guess there has to be another cause. Right click the Computer icon on the desktop. Choose Properties. Click System Protection, click at your main drive and click "Configure" and from there, you can immediately see how much space is allocated for restore points in that drive. You can adjust it higher if its really too low or if you want.

Yes I am from the Philippines. Good guessing... How did you know??? Its a bit cooler here in the south
  4. I have used Open Office Portable as well but its not as good as Microsoft Office. It is very prone to crashes even when run in compatibility mode. Plus Microsoft Office's ribbon interface is far more superior. Yes, I also hate the way that Microsoft has these software packages that have things you don't want want like Microsoft Office Groove for example. Why not just let the user choose which apps should come with the package so it consumes less space??? And removing Office, leaves behind a lot of orphaned data as well. And I also hate the same concept about Windows Live Essential's installer package and it even has problems in uninstallment if it wasn't for Revo. Plus the hundreds of related registry it leaves behind as well.

In my place, the average day temperature is ~33ºC and basically ~37ºC in the cities. And more and more people from any social class gets a heatstroke and unluckily, many have died. Try drinking more water and maybe let the missis open more windows to let the air (if any) in. Of if you some of you can't take the weather, try going on a holiday trip on someplace cooler or warmer or somewhere where the weather is more predictable.
  6. Well, I said, I installed both Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows Live Photo gallery and that is where I got the wlsetup-web which is the setup of Windows Live Essentials. I chose to install ONLY those two but little did I know, that installing them installs some smaller components like Windows Live Sign in Assistant which is mandatory when you install any of the Windows Live Essentials applications. I disliked Windows Live Movie Maker but there was no way to remove that without removing Windows Live Essentials and removing that would in turn remove Windows Live Photo Gallery as well which I did with Revo Uninstaller. I cleaned the registry, after that but I reserved a backup with Erunt. I tried running the wlsetup-web again to install ONLY Windows Live Photo Gallery this time but now the setup thinks, I still have Windows Live Photo Gallery and Windows Live Movie Maker installed. Look at the screenshot...
  7. Well, its not easy for me to trust Microsoft again when it comes to their recent software packages that does not suit me well. If you read my statements above, carefully, you'll learn why it caused me such dismay.
  8. I use Windows 7 and I will enumerate my reasons to hate Windows Live Essentials: 1. I don't really like the way Microsoft allows you to install some of their software. They let you download a small setup file such as Office 2010 Beta , and running that setup file lets you download the rest of the application. So why not just let it be downloaded on a whole large file???? 2. Months ago, I installed Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows Live Photo Gallery, but I soon found out that they were installed with things like Windows Sign in Assistant and Windows Live Skydrive Upload Tool which I don't need, frankly. 3. Windows Live Photo Gallery is somehow slower than Vista's Windows Photo Gallery, especially on loading image thumbnails. Windows Live Movie Maker- what the heck, Windows Movie Maker 2.6 was much more understandable and better. 4. I wanted to remove Windows Live Movie Maker but would like to keep Windows Live Photo Gallery, but I found no way to uninstall Windows Live Movie Maker only, I had to remove the entire Windows Live Essentials but that would rid off Windows Live Photo Gallery as well. I tried to uninstall it using CCleaner and Add/Remove programs but it always fails, it simply won't do anything to uninstall it. 5. I was finally able to uninstall Windows Live Essentials with Revo Uninstaller Portable, along with the other components like the Sign in Assistant and Skydrive Upload Tool, but my God, Windows Live Essentials left behind hundreds in not a thousand registry keys, orphaned files and folders in the C: drive. Running a registry scan, revealed even more orphaned registry entries. I fixed them all but have backed up the registry with Erunt beforehand. 6. I wanted to reinstall Windows Live Photo Gallery, so I had to run the wlsetup-web setup file again. It says, I already have Windows Live Photo Gallery and Windows Live Movie Maker installed. What the heck?????? I thought I just removed them completely. It could only mean that there is some left over file or registry entry that is telling the setup that Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows Live Photo Gallery is still there. Now there is no way to reinstall Windows Live Photo Gallery!!!!!! That was among the worse software experiences, I ever had.... Now has anybody seen the same???
  9. Your thread title says "freezes at temporary Internet files". I did encounter a freezing issue when I had the "Autocomplete form history" checked in a distant previous version. But what does temp Internet files have to do with your problems uninstalling CCleaner to get a new version??? The point of fact is that, you do not need to manually uninstall the older CCleaner version cause runing the newer version's install setup automatically does that for you. You mean it freezes on this process??? This could be the work of a malware so try doing a virus scan. One option is to simply delete the CCleaner program folder but note that this is not a proper uninstall as remnants of CCleaner will be left in the registry. The program folder would usually be in C:\Program Files and look for a folder named CCleaner and simply delete that. That folder would be on a different location if the installment was directed to another directory. After having deleted the folder called CCleaner from C:\Program Files or whatever directory, get the new version of CCleaner and install it normally.
  10. If you are using CCleaner on a computer with other people using it, better run it after you are done with your tasks such as Internet browsing and before you log off in this way, other people can't easily access your private data. I run CCleaner whenever I like, maybe a dozen or two dozens a day and immediately after installing programs, moving files and stuff.
  11. Mmmmm.... if I am not wrong, Andavari once mentioned that this can do harm as well. But I will say yes as long as it is safe but should rather be unchecked by default.
  12. I don't know how to settle this since the layout has now been changed.
  13. I think Blood Diamond has a good story that was based from reality. About recent films, I would suggest: Shutter Island which is another DiCaprio film which is creepy and psychological. Clash of the Titans which is about the adventures of Perseus. and maybe Iron Man 2 because its popular although, I have never seen it.

Yeah, I was gonna say, nice jeep though.
  15. It seems a little complex to me. Adding apps to clean??? Maybe CCleaner might delete important files in those programs.
  16. There is no absolute claim that it will or will not degrade the computer's performance.
  17. Try downloading it from: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ In this way, it does not direct you in the donations page.

It looks fake to me. The snowflakes are too white and there are barely much snowflakes on the ground. It seems a bit uneasy to get a camera just as the first batch of snowflakes started falling. The background seems dry, suggesting you are not living in a frigid region and if this did happen,it would have made news headlines.
  19. Make a system restore point prior to the cleaning and make a backup of the registry using a program called Erunt. I do believe that useless or corrupt registry keys degrade the computer's performance in contrary to Aethec but with only a few of them, its almost impossible to tell that removing them would improve performance. However many more useless or corrupt registry keys would in deed slow down the performance to an extent.
  20. Yes if all that is checked for cleaning are those that are checked by default. But when it comes to the other options besides the default ones, better be careful, always reserve a backup or a restore point especially when it comes to the registry cleaner function.
  21. That would be great to some extent but maybe that does not allow users to install to a directory they like with this program and that. What I did was create a folder in the D: drive and put all my utility software there.

One fancy approach for attention. I did experience a time that somebody here made a thread with my name in it which made me happy to some degree.

Wow, things did change a lot when I was on a trip for about 10 days lol. I appreciate it very very well
  24. You mean CCleaner leaves behind its startup key on the Registry if you uninstalled it using the uninstaller??? I believe you have to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete CCleaner's startup entry there. Or if you have another registry cleaner installed, that can perhaps help you delete this orphaned startup key. Or maybe on Windows Vista, use Windows Defender to delete startup items.
  25. There are several factors why your computer is still slow. What hardware do you use??? Maybe your hardware does not is not good enough for your operating system. There could be a virus that is making it slow. If there are lots of icons on the side panel, that might indicate that you have several startup programs that run automatically when the computer is turned on. CCleaner can help you disable some of them. Tools>Startup and choose the programs you don't want to run at startup by disabling them. Maybe your hard disk is fragmented, try doing disk defrag. Use programs like Defraggler for this. Maybe the inside of your CPU is dusty so better clean that up.
