  1. See here, this is what Nergal posted about: http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/advanced-usage/ccleaner-ini-files/how-to-clean-user-data-from-non-standard-mozilla-browsers
  2. Whois tracked it to .JP, Japan.
  3. Only thing though is the full format can deal with bad blocks if the disk has any. I don't know how much time saving using the method you mention would be.
  4. You're only supposed to complain about CCleaner in this topic. Allot of software and hardware is unfortunately going down that route.
  5. Some programs will create a registry entry for it, although I don't know if any also install it as a piggyback program.
  6. If someone accidentally double-clicks, or has a mouse that's buggy which double-clicks on its own that could cause problems.
  7. Known as "The X Files" in English speaking countries, I think I watched two episodes of it. TV has plenty of old shows in syndication, in fact way too much old stuff and re-runs that don't signify the monthly cost of a subscription.
  8. Actually we have valid reason to close any new topic complaining about the GUI since we don't need a dozen or more with the same or similar complaints.
  9. Complaints about the UI design are dedicated to only one topic located here, therefore this topic is closed: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=42323
  10. I suggest you re-read and understand forum rule 15 about asking for help via the PM system, we won't be going down that road ever again.
  11. Recuva won't restore registry settings, so even if it and you could locate what files were removed you'd more than likely still have to reinstall the software.
  12. What has me scratching my head is why are they even bothering with an installer in a "tech preview."
  13. Back when the first 2.x version damaged or removed a vital system file when uninstalling it even Windows Event Viewer couldn't give clear indication of what .DLL file it was. I don't think their cleanup tool or their forum still would have been a solution back then whereas restoring from a Macrium Reflect image fixed everything. Not the first anti-malware/anti-virus tool I've seen damage Windows during uninstall.
  14. There is no demo version! It's freeware with no official support from the developer Piriform the only support available is through this community forum from other free users. The freeware version does not operate/run at a reduced speed, it could be the size of the disk you're having it scan and/or the amount of damage the disk has being it was dropped.
  15. Well they can learn to not be like Chrome putting stuff in those deeply buried paths which can cause issues like you've discovered. I stated I'll wait for a stable build, well now it will have to be a stable portable build so I can place it in a more logical path.
  16. Some (well those who are up front what they're sending back to themselves) are going to want statistics such as the OS, hardware, other running software, the installed software, and the amount of files scanned, etc. If infections were found what the infection was, where the infection was at (folder path, and file name), and if the infection was successfully neutralized.
  17. Thanks for the screenshots. I'll wait for them to come out with the first stable release version, and hopefully have a full add-ons/plugins base to work with it too that's also stable.
  18. I got rid of 1.75 and haven't bothered with upgrading to any 2.x version anymore because when uninstalling the first 2.x release on XP it would damage some system file in XP requiring a full restore of a full disk image. Needless to say very leery to ever use it again should I choose to uninstall it.
  19. Screenshots please! I liked the old Opera way back when I bought a license (yes it used to not be freeware) but then they kept drastically changing it.
  20. I personally use Panda Free Antivirus (it's no longer called Panda Cloud Antivirus), was previously using Avira Free Antivirus but the updates don't work in it. Can't comment on the other two you mention they won't work on my PC, Avast is incompatible with a DRM'd software driver on my system and has been for years, and MSE no longer supports XP.
  21. Don't forget excluding registry data, example: ExcludeKey1=REG|HKCR\DoNotDelete ExcludeKey2=REG|HKCR\DoNotDelete2 ExcludeKey3=REG|HKCR\DoNotDelete3
  22. That's what I was thinking too I'd image several anti-malware and anti-virus tools to possibly trigger upon running it, however the screenshot login123 posted was enough to realize it was much more. Who knows maybe that program just opens the website link in IE, but doesn't actually plant malware on the system. Since Panda Free Antivirus didn't detect anything on my system I made sure to overwrite the file with 7 secure passes for the overkill effect.
  23. Try to copy+paste in: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
  24. I removed the link. Both Jotti and MetaScan find nothing, maybe a false positive if what's in the screenshot is MSE detecting it, however I'll trust login123 Antivirus being that you provided screenshots!
