  1. Yes, or uninstall it. Having both running can slow down your browsing or even possibly cause issues.
  2. The dev's don't necessarily always post in all topics reporting issues.
  3. They'll never learn! Adios Domingo.
  4. With that about.config tweak Firefox still complains.
  5. He means this Corona Click to enlarge: When downloading uBO from it's homepage you have to right-click the download in Firefox and 'Save Link As', otherwise if you try to download it normally Firefox still won't allow the addon, in my case Firefox closed itself. After uBO is downloaded to your download folder just drag 'n' drop the downloaded uBlock0.firefox.xpi file onto the open Firefox window to update.
  6. Which version of CCleaner? Crashes when, when you're trying to install, or trying to open an already installed CCleaner? If it crashes during install you can get the newest Slim build at: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
  7. Wonder if this would be of any help for that folder you deleted (scroll down the page until you find them giving info on what you've removed and how to restore it): http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/18583-user-folders-restore-default-location.html
  8. If Avast is still installed it has self-protection to stop its files and registry settings from being tampered with - any good antivirus should do this. If Avast is uninstalled it could merely be that the permissions on the key need to be manually changed so that it can be removed.
  9. Correct Trium they both delete this: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Regedit|LastKey I made a post for the bug fixers to report it since it's a duplication, so if someone wanted to keep the MRU they'd never know there were two items in CCleaner to untick/disable.
  10. I saw the changelog (read it everytime actually), but I do like the fuzzy feeling of having the latest and greatest uBO.
  11. Just looked again, you will need to untick both of these since they'll both remove the RegEdit MRU: * Cleaner > Windows (tab) > Windows Explorer > Other Explorer MRUs * Cleaner > Applications (tab) > Windows > RegEdit
  12. Anyone notice how slow the official Firefox addons is to offer an update to uBlock Origin? The official Firefox addons page is on 1.5.5 that's two versions behind compared to the releases page with 1.5.7 here: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases
  13. It's Other Explorer MRUs located in: Cleaner > Windows (tab) > Windows Explorer > Other Explorer MRUs Untick Other Explorer MRUs to retain the MRU history. This is what it contains which is removing the RegEdit MRU: [Other Explorer MRUs] ID=1011 LangSecRef=3002 LangRef=3124 Default=True RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32 RegKey2=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FindComputerMRU RegKey3=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\PrnPortsMRU RegKey4=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Map Network Drive MRU RegKey5=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComputerDescriptions RegKey6=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Direct3D\MostRecentApplication|Name RegKey7=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Direct3D\MostRecentApplication|Name RegKey8=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DirectDraw\MostRecentApplication RegKey9=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\DirectInput\MostRecentApplication|Id RegKey10=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\DirectInput\MostRecentApplication|Name RegKey11=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\WordWheelQuery RegKey12=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TypedPaths RegKey13=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Regedit|LastKey RegKey14=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Wallpaper\MRU RegKey15=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Wallpapers\Images Hmm, upon looking into this for you I realized that's why my wallpaper folder is always forgotten. Would be nice if Piriform separated some of those MRUs for a more tailored configuration.
  14. Free users have to manually download new versions, and then just install over the pre-existing version. Keep an eye on the Announcements forum area to see when new versions are released which has been historically once per month. The download is available at http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download However, if you want the Portable or Slim builds you'd go here instead: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
  15. That problem has existed for a longtime before Win10. What I've did in XP to get around it is set up a view that I want system-wide and then via Folder Options set all folders to have the same view. Of course that may not work the same on Win10.
  16. Maybe that system needs a default browser set. Or maybe it's malware related, if you suspect malware read item 10 here and choose a malware removal forum.
  17. From my experience with audio it can depend upon what format something was encoded into, and what compression level/quality was used. Video is a whole other beast.
  18. Almost sounds like a registry setting isn't getting created or updated.
  19. VLC has all those audio+video codecs too, it will be interesting if it's light on memory.
  20. You could achieve this using the built-in Windows Task Scheduler by setting a set time when you know you're unlikely to be using your computer, and the command-line parameters (see the docs) to automatically run CCleaner using the /AUTO switch CCleaner.exe /AUTO
  21. WMP has all those codecs in the background, so I wonder if it's perhaps loading a bunch of them. For music try Foobar2000.
  22. Make sure you don't have that Windows Temp 24 hours rule ticked in Options>Advanced Don't forget on old XP this one too: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temp
  23. uBO for Firefox was released yesterday 7 Jan 2016, I noticed the Chrome/Chromium version was released today 8 Jan 2016. The crash on startup in a Chrome/Chromium browser I've not had that, crashing on closing the browser I've experienced.
  24. That was the normal experience I faced on XP whenever they released "security" updates for .NET Framework, it would sit there for 45 minutes at least during the install phase - so no I don NOT miss the monthly updates at all and good riddance to them.
  25. How about the dir command built into Windows Command Prompt? You can find it's options via a Command Prompt by typing in: dir /? Also see: * https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/6320xzye(v=vs.100).aspx * http://dosprompt.info/commands/dir.asp The search I used to find the above sites: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=command+prompt+dir
