  1. You already have an on-going topic about this stuff located here: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=45453 Please don't duplicate topics when you already have one. This topic is closed.
  2. Can't see anything wrong with what you have as: CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|C:\Users\xxxx\Portable Apps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile Just baffled that Monitoring worked previously with FF Portable.
  3. Even though you mentioned you installed CCleaner Pro, however are you using the Portable version of CCleaner? CCleaner Portable has Monitoring completely disabled.

    DennisD?

    Robbie, see here: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=40209&page=9&do=findComment&comment=269935
  5. Piriform doesn't officially support winapp2.ini, even though it's posted here on their official software forums.
  6. Eventually they'll make it clean again I mean how many times have we seen in the change log where it states "improved cleaning of ....", they're always playing catch up.
  7. You can make a cleaner for it using winapp2.ini, or via CCleaner in 'Options > Include'.
  8. How about not running CCleaner for 5-7 days? This includes completely turning off the monitoring it has if you have that enabled in Options > Monitoring. This will help figure out if CCleaner is the cause or not. If you can go that amount of time without loosing your tabs you'll pretty much know it's CCleaner fault, but if those tabs disappear again when not using CCleaner the culprit is something else.
  9. See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defragmentation
  10. If Chrome was recently updated perhaps that's the reason why, and if so Piriform may need to update CCleaner to improve the Chrome cleaning. You aren't the only one with the issue, someone else has the same issue here.
  11. All joking aside the really bad winter storms that bring in crippling amounts of snow always end up with fatalities, i.e.; people unable to get to hospitals, and emergency services unable to get to people in need.
  12. Glad my mothers laptop only has the onboard AMD ATI Radeon graphics, I certainly don't feel like fiddling with that Win10 laptop anymore than I have to.
  13. I always use that guru3D tool when wanting to fully get rid of graphics card drivers, never had any harm from using it either.
  14. Perhaps try exporting the Opera bookmarks to an HTML file, then Firefox will be able to import them.
  15. If the files reside in the MFT it can't overwrite them, which is a similar description Recuva gives when that's the reason.
  16. Since everything is already unticked my suggestion wouldn't work for you. The testing proposed was if you had the Firefox cleaners enabled (like how CCleaner has them selected and on by default during setup) so you could figure out which was removing the settings, but since you don't have any ticked that's not the cause of your issue.

    Plex

To exclude that folder: Open CCleaner and click: Options > Exclude > Add > Drive or Folder Note that you may have to enable the view of Hidden Files and Folders in Windows first to be able to see the folder you'll exclude via CCleaner.
  18. Your version of CCleaner is one version outdated, new version is here: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds Since this has been an issue since 2013 for you without a solution I'd recommend doing the following to narrow down the cause: 1. Open CCleaner, and then untick all Firefox cleaners in CCleaner. 2. Enable one Firefox cleaner in CCleaner, then right click that one cleaner and select Clean. 3. Open Firefox to see if your tabs/tab groups are intact, if they are still intact close Firefox. 4. In CCleaner keep doing this one Firefox cleaner at a time then opening/closing Firefox until you find exactly which cleaner is wiping out your tabs/tabs groups. Shouldn't take too long. Once you find which one is the culprit leave it unticked/disabled in CCleaner. Do share your results.
  19. I think a solution to the registry cleaner backups failing to work (merge/import) could be easily remedied if Piriform would have a tickable box in CCleaner to create a System Restore Point. Of course while keeping the original .REG file backup as an option too so someone could have a two-fold backup with both the .REG file, and a System Restore Point. In some instances restoring Windows Registry data via a .REG file won't work properly, hence the reason for having a System Restore Point.
  20. You could also try the Portable zip version. Some instructions here on how to update a pre-existing installed version using the Portable version: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=5739
  21. Windows 10 is probably too new to be running any registry cleaner on it, even the so-called "gentle" registry cleaner that CCleaner has. ______________________ Microsoft's registry cleaner that was built into their free online virus scanning service was very dangerous, it would cause Office to need a repair install. CCleaner's registry cleaner never finds anything on my system anymore partly because there's no Microsoft updates for XP anymore, but also because I track the installation of software with Total Uninstall and when I remove software with it there's no left-overs for the registry cleaner to find.
  22. Wouldn't know if it can "hurt" your C drive, however I absolutely would not be using the computer while a Wipe Free Space is taking place, but then again stuff like antivirus will update in the background, etc. Probably best to start the Wipe Free Space just before you go to bed, when you wake up it should be finished (depending upon the size of your hard disk).
  23. To minimize program opening delays as much as possible when I used Panda Free Antivirus I changed a configurable delay setting in it to the absolute minimum which was 10 seconds (can't remember what it is exactly but it's nestled in the settings), since it would commonly cause some programs to take a very long time to open. I wonder if antivirus with cloud scanning capabilities (and most have that ability now) could adversely effect users if the cloud server was slow, or down.
  24. That's not a regular folder for XP. One thing though is software designed for newer versions of Windows that will still work on XP may use a newer folder structure or be hardcoded to use it even though it isn't normal for XP, so it's possible to have non-default locations for XP like that, although I've only seen that happen once when using a software.
