  1. I was also thinking maybe FileHippo.com wrapped it, but no because I've also checked the BetaNews FileForum download and it matches the hashes I provided above. Perhaps a gremlin on Christmas day on the Piriform site, who knows really.
  2. I don't have that issue both Piriform.com and FileHippo.com have matching hash and identical filesize for me. MD5: 2CE5036C2ED480773C05E10B5BDF40E4 SHA-1: B7C20CA5F3D03CA0B47FE84EA238FF4F69E5183B SHA-256: F53EB97F036C96D8B493084135C6BBBD61E079483FF09B0A6A60B1939E693FA1
  3. The requirements don't mention IE as being required. See here towards the middle of the page for the requirements: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download For install problems see here: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=5739
  4. Make sure you're only downloading from Piriform here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner Also it was reported a few months ago that some of the downloads didn't have the .EXE extension on the end of the setup file, so if the file is named ccsetup513 without .EXE on the end it won't run. The .EXE can be manually added to the file so that it's a valid executable. For install problems see here: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=5739
  5. It would be interesting if Chrome was detecting the bundled in Google software to deem it malicious, actually it would be rather hilarious. In any event if you are downloading from Piriform.com it can be deemed a false positive.
  6. It's because it wipes out the log information or something that keeps the last scan date. Some time ago (and sorry I don't know where the post is) someone posted what to exclude in CCleaner so that it could partially clean Windows Defender but also keep the last scan date.
  7. Protecting Chrome/Chromium Extension Settings The only reason I made this post is because so many people claim many different adblocking addons/extensions have stopped working, and they blame the adblocking developers who may not be at fault in all cases - especially if a cleaning tool is causing the issue. When using Chrome/Chromium web browsers (Comodo Dragon, Google Chrome, SRWare Iron, etc.,) you need to leave the contents of a particular folder located in your browser 'profile' folder alone, and perhaps make an exclude in the 3rd party cleaning software you use (CCleaner, etc). The reason is so adblocking addons/extensions can properly save and keep settings such as filter subscriptions, and custom filters you've made regardless of using 3rd party cleaning software. This may also work for other addons/extensions to also protect their settings. This is the folder to leave alone: ..\Profile\Default\Local Extension Settings Example of a proper full path excluded in CCleaner (using my unzipped copy of SRWare Iron Portable as the example): C:\PortableApps\IronPortable\Profile\Default\Local Extension Settings
  8. Eraser the software? If you're asking about Eraser that's best done on their forums/discussion boards as this is the Piriform forums for Piriform software.
  9. Got it. Still no support for portable browsers; Firefox Portable, SRWare Iron Portable, etc.
  10. Didn't know they had mirrors so thank you for the suggestion. I've switched to the Fanboy mirror for EasyList+EasyPrivacy and Malware Domains and it updates quickly.
  11. It's here: https://www.fanboy.co.nz/ It adds their adblocking into browser adblocking addons/extensions.
  12. Well I can't get updates in Adblock Plus for Firefox and in Adblock for Chrome on my old WinXP computer. On my mothers Win10 laptop computer using her Internet it won't update in Firefox either.
  13. Has anyone noticed in their adblocking software that uses EasyList + EasyPrivacy that it's been nearly impossible to download updates to them for several days now? I've noticed any subscriptions I have which are stored on adblockplus.org are either nearly impossible to update or take forever - to the point it seems like they need mirror servers or something due to their unreliability. Edit: I've noticed it makes Adblock 2.45 for Chrome sluggish during browser startup, and slow to open the settings as if it's trying to update the subscriptions but it can't. Also any custom subscriptions added into it such as "Adware filters", and "Malware Domains" from the Known Adblock Plus Subscriptions page get deemed by Adblock for Chrome as "Invalid list URL. It'll be deleted" since it obviously can't update them. Edit 2: Are there any good alternatives to the Known Adblock Plus Subscriptions. And please don't recommend anything from Fanboy as those subscriptions cause nothing but problems on many websites.
  14. In the future when posting screenshots you may wish to paint over the MAC Address and IP Address as a security precaution.
  15. This is 6 months old! Although I doubt the employee would really want to work for the employer after the ordeal, I know I wouldn't.
  16. I loathe it! Like the one guy in the comments stated, I also wouldn't have it installed if it weren't for a couple of programs that require it - and I have completely removed it before since it went corrupt on my system and reinstalled it clean which was better than the "recommended instructions" of formatting Windows.
  17. What's the image format, size in pixels, and file size in kb. People in the past had issues using a particular image format with IPB forum software which I can't remember off hand at the moment, maybe gif and png I'm thinking because all mine are saved as jpg to avoid an error about the image format. Also IPB forum software (in the past at least) would only accept an image falling at or under a certain pixel size which is 200 now (assuming 200x200), and the file size in kb had to be under a certain size which I now notice it doesn't mention anymore.
  18. You can do that, substitute just the .EXE file ccleaner.exe since the file would be identical with matching hashes/checksums from the portable ZIP and the installer.
  19. Or don't clean the registry at all in Win10, give CCleaner time to catch up.
  20. Had to cancel an order on a game purchase I made on Sunday, since today I could get it at 15% off on Amazon.com so I cancelled my video game purchase made yesterday and re-ordered it today at the discounted price.
  21. My mothers Dell laptop didn't even have it. Maybe because it was new and Dell was aware of it?
  22. IE cookies. Perhaps try using the cleaning ability located in IE, run a chkdsk /f (WinVista instructions) on the drive you have Windows installed on, then give CCleaner a try again.
  23. One more thing to add into mta's list above: What web browser(s) are you using, and then attempting to clean with CCleaner?
