  1. Ohhh. That's why IE8 is such a crap. They focused so much in making IE8 the only one to see this "page" that they forgot about the rest of the internet!
  2. Looks great! I can't wait for the final release. Thanks for the links and info. I wonder why they have it hidden.
  3. Great. Thanks. Edit: How do I get the whole theme? (like the icons and the other stuff)
  4. Which XP theme is that one? Looks great.
  5. Holy crap! It's kind of big so I'm sticking with Filehippo and MajorGeeks.
  6. It's not recommended to have two or more AV programs running on memory at the same time. Why? AV programs have a lot of ways of protecting you, that's why they take so much memory. If you have two AVs running at the same time (with resident protection) your memory will fill up, slowing down the computer. It's cool to have two AVs on your computer, but only one of them should be running resident protection. You can use the other one as a backup AV in case you want to make sure there is no malware around. For example, I use Avira as my primary AV, and SuperAntiSpyware as a backup AV, since it has no resident protection.
  7. You mean this. It's just the SP3 update.
  8. Here's a place where you can buy it. (price is almost the same in other paces)
  9. nop. those are always the same. they're just time wasters.
  10. I like the first one. I like those "train your brain" stuff. I've seen the second one before. Edit: I posted the trick too.
  11. That's probably an empty registry key. (might have been left behind by a program you no longer use) You can safely delete it. If you are not sure, backup before you clean.
  12. Cool Ishan. Thanks This website has proven to be really good. I'm typing it down.
  13. I got another idea: Does the msconfig command works? If it does, (in the general tab) try using the "Normal Startup" and the "Diagnostic Startup". I hope it works.
  14. Which drive is I:\ ? What's in it? If you got nothing there then there's nothing we can do. Anyways, have you tried chkdsk /F ? Fixes weird stuff sometimes.
  15. Here is a NET Framework Cleanup Tool to remove corrupt NET Framework installations: http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/pages/8904493.aspx
  16. I found something that might tell you if you have a copy of your XP cd files on your pc. Go to this registry key: (regedit.exe) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup Take a look at the SourcePath data column. Chances are that the key might be pointing to the cdrom drive. But if it is still somewhere around we can work with it.
  17. I like Smart Defrag best because of this.
  18. I think that browsers are more like a "user choice" than a "how faster or better is it". But it's pretty good and fast. Anyway, can you post a link to Chromium? All I find is Chrome.
  19. I downloaded yesterday. It's really clean and fast. I really liked it. I guess that Apple knows how to make a browser for Windows better than Microsoft itself.
  20. I just installed and ran WRC (with Returnil enabled, lol) When the program starts it asks if you want to make a ResPoint. But after you clean it just backup automatically without asking. So I wonder if that backup it's still around. Go to taskmanager > New Task > Browse. Press the My Computer button and go here: C:\Program Files\Wise Registry Cleaner\backup Make sure that in "Files of type:" you select "All files" or you will not see them... The backup is a file with a random name and looks like blue blocks on a paper. Don't double-click it. Just right-click and select "Merge". Merge all you find. Restart your computer afterwards. Fingers crossed...
  21. Ok. I'm gonna show you what windows explorer is. (this is the XP way, I'm not sure if it's different in other OSs) First press Crtl-Alt-Del Task Manager will show up (remember not to close it) Go to processes right-click on explorer.exe and select End Process. right? Now (in task manager) go to Applications > New task. type explorer.exe and hit enter. If you closed task manager just press Crtl-Alt-Del again or reboot. Do you still want to disable windows explorer?
