  1. No. Real-time protection will protect you from opening a virus-infected file before it infects your computer. On-demand scanning is only a quick checkup to see if your real-time scanner missed something.
  2. It all depends on how often you run them. For example, quick scan weekly, and full scan monthly.
  3. I agree with Andavari. Just go to the Advanced section of the cleaner and tick Old Prefetch Data.
  4. Awesome release, just awesome. Why aren't the versions of Piriform products displayed? A suggestion for the default suggested file name: CCleaner_log.

    Recuva v1.33

Thanks a lot for the improvements. Usually, when I loose a file I go with the regular scan, and if the regular scan doesn't find anything then I just give up (because the deep scan used to be very slow, and frequently ended up with irrecoverable files) I'll try the deep scan next time.
  6. Nice one firery. A second one from me...
  7. Now this doesn't make me very happy... http://blog.iobit.com/archives/tag/malwarebytes
  8. Possible spelling mistake.
  9. Hotfix Uninstallers will delete windows update installation files. (you can delete them if you don't plan to uninstall windows updates) More on the advanced section here. Way more on docs.piriform.com From where did you download from?
  10. The next time this happens to you, right click on an empty area of the analysis screen and click "save to text file". This way you can delete the contents manually or post it here so we can provide further help.
  11. Seems like Windows is trying to open the file with iTunes. Try this (with Internet Explorer): Go to http://www.ccleaner.com/download and click on "Alternative Download". Wait for the file download window to appear and click "Save". Save it to your desktop, and when done, execute it from there. I hope it works.
  12. Hi. This issue has been reported, but developers haven't been able to reproduce it. Can you please provide more details about the steps you are following?
  13. Seems like this guy also has the same problem.
  14. It could be a bug in CC. (I don't have Win 7 so I can't recreate) In the moment, CCleaner has only preliminary support for windows 7 (I forgot to tell you ) (http://docs.piriform.com/ccleaner/introduc...em-requirements) so maybe if devs read this topic they will fix it.
  15. You mean Options > Cookies? Cookies are placed in the "Cookies to delete" box by default. Search for them there. I suggest you delete IE's cookies first so FF's become easier to find. Also, make sure that you are not deleting them in Cleaner > Applications tab, Firefox/Mozilla > cookies.

    ccleaner on SSD

Not sure what you mean, but you can run CCleaner with any option you want, although it will only clean your system partition and your user account.
  17. Was added to version 2.25 released this past Monday. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=24883
  18. lol, I go away for a few months and this is what happens. Hello everyone.
  19. nope. just log files from scans, detections, etc. If you wish to disable AVG log file cleaning just untick it or look at this other topic... You can also find useful information at docs.piriform.com. Welcome to the forum, btw.
  20. This latest trio of releases has been awesome. Thanks a lot guys. Now, what has happened to defraggler.com and recuva.com? New websites? That would be great! I would like to get some news on that. About this Defraggler release, it would be great if you guys added an option to run CCleaner /auto before defragment. I bet you guys already thought of that.
  21. There could be a check box in the installer called "Use the last installation settings." An "install.ini" in the CCleaner folder would be perfect. Yes, a simple .ini that you could modify or delete.
