  1. At first, I thought there was something wrong with my internet connection. This theme is kind of chunky. Looks good though. The old one looked more professional. But changes in life are good, so I'm gonna give it a try.
  2. Oh men! You are wrong. This has nothing to do with the registry. I'm sure you have "Hotfix Uninstallers" ticked. When you install WMP Windows backs up the last version you had in case you uninstall. If you deleted them, Windows will have nothing to replace WMP with.
  3. Yeah! I just remembered. Hey Rod you can use Avira's Rescue System if you want to safe your stuff. I've never used it but I sure trust this guys. Here's a link. Here's another one. I quote from them:
  4. Hi normsta Welcome to the forum Go to options (the last one) settings (the first one). The language is the first thing you will see.
  5. Woah! Happens to me too... I've never noticed. I always have all my own settings ticked. This only happens when there's nothing else ticked but Recent Documents. I'ts a minor bug.
  6. Hi Rod Welcome to the forum If your windows 2000 can not boot why would you want to restore a registry backup made by ccleaner. CCleaner doesn't make this kind of damage. Try to boot in safe mode then run ccleaner and disable everything from startup. I had a similar problem with a laptop a friend brought me. It didn't boot and this is how I solved it. If this doesn't work then try repairing the windows installation.
  7. Hi Teleman Welcome to the forum You should go around Pirifom docs to get familiarized with CCleaner I have the link down there
  8. So many fixes and improvements... I just want to say thanks for each and every one of them. Best CCleaner ever.
  9. Deleting all prefetch files is not safe. Windows and programs need this files in order to work properly. Quoting from piriform docs: "CCleaner deletes old prefetch data for programs that no longer exist or haven't been used in a long time." If you still want to take the risk try Options > Include
  10. Try reinstalling Chrome
  11. I really don't know what is happenig, but I've had IE8 since RC1 and never had problems like this. Maybe you should try internet options > Advanced > Reset. It's not that bad. It did actually fixed me a problem with the address bar.
  12. Or try Recuva But I hope it is still intact. That button is one of the things I would remove from CCleaner, but well...

    Whoa! What happened?
  15. Hi Visionary Welcome to the forum You can't force CCleaner to do something, but try using the built-in cleaners of Firefox and Chrome.

    Wipe free Space

Too much noise, so I appear... LOL The thingy is simple. 1- Wiping free space is not necessary unless you are giving away your computer as it is (and even so). 2- You should only wipe your entire disk if you are selling it, throwing it away or giving it to someone else. 3- You shouldn?t go to the extremes unless you have threatened somebody you shouldn't have messed with. I mean, there's no need of wiping the free space of your drive. This can cause a lot of wear and tear and can shorten its lifespan. If you really want to get rid of your data, just take a hammer and make it dirt. Anyways, great topic, great posts. Thank you all for the great information. Data peace.
  17. I've been waiting for it. Thanks for the heads-up. I'm Premium Security Suite all-the-way.
  18. I'm glad that piriform took some time to fix and improve Defraggler. Even so, Defreggler portable isn't still officially portable. (no portable.dat or other portable files) Anyways, I still really like Defraggler because of the individual files defrag, the move large files to end of drive, and the shutdown option. But I give Defraggler the second place. I'm still feeling better and safer with JKdefrag.

    new updater?

But CCleaner saves it's settings on the computer and I don't think that adding a code to download and install will be that big.
  20. You posted so fast that I'm not sure if you actually read my whole post. As for Davey, I meant besides him. He was the only one who replied. Thanks again Davey. But anyways, back then I had google earth v4.3 (then I discovered maps.google.com ) but I still have Windows XP sp3 The current ini file cleans the dbcache files for XP. So my point is that if piriform makes a new winapp2.ini file I would like to see the whole cache been cleaned this time.
  21. I posted a topic about this some time ago, but seems that nobody else but Davey saw it... Here...

    new updater?

Hi holland Welcome to the forum I agree with you.
  23. 0 fragments means the file doesn't exist. 1 fragment means that the file is in 1 piece. 2 or more fragments means that the file is in 2 or more pieces.
  24. Please Piriform Remove the wipe free space option as many inexperienced users might damage their drive without kwowing.
