  1. Don't know anthing about this software, but here is a link I saw on a couple of forum sites http://www.gold-software.com/MagicSwf2Gif-file912.html EDIT It's share ware, even so it looks good
  2. Had the same problem res45 so it's not just at your end. Did a context scan and avg 7.5 froze, the taskbar icon wouldn't work or the desktop shortcut open at all. Had to reboot. All ok now but am just using etrust context scan for now.
  3. Some people would say that poor families would not be able to afford computers. Anway there is enough free stuff out there to keep most people happy. If I cannot afford a car I don't expect my neighbour to allow me to drive his, use his petrol etc without even asking his permission to do so, or offering to pay towards the costs.

    Defrag

For the ultimate solutions to windows defrag problems read here http://www.andreasroom.com/blog/archive/20.../18/defrag.aspx A long page but everyone in the world seems to have had problems with defrag at one time or another! The main fixes that seem to work for most are the page file one posted by a John B. (Setting page file size for selected drive you want to defrag to system managed size) The DCom fix The reinstalling of the dfag.inf file in the c:\windows\inf directory. A good read by anyone with any sort of defrag problem or who is just interested (like me!) One of the causes seems to be the install and uninstall of 3rd party defraggers such as Diskkeeper.
  5. Hello rep114 and welcome to the forum, Have you had a chance to read the beginners guide yet? http://www.internetrotsyourbrain.com/ccleanerbeginnersguide/ This may help explain things a bit, and then ask more questions if you need to
  6. Hello mill3453 and welcome to the forum Thanks for posting what works for you with this problem, you never know, it may help someone else. keep posting!
  7. Hello arizonabay, Sorry to read about your problem with your lost (precious) files and inability to restore. I did a little look around google as well and found quite a few folk have had problems with norton go back. In quite a few mentions, some users said about the fact that it sometimes erases system restore points, so if it is doing the restore it may destroy them itself. Also it is fiendishly difficult to uninstall (as are most norton products). There is also the possibility that norton go back decided your c drive was in danger and would have taken certain steps on the push of one button. Could this have happened? I am in no way saying you are not telling the truth as you see it , but please consider that other possibilities may have caused this. By the way on one site a frantic user posted a Ctrl+Alt+G fix that is supposed to disable go back, he was thanked a lot for this!! May I ask why you felt the need to scan for trojans etc every day for the last 3 weeks? Was your system sluggish? I wish you the best of luck in solving your problem.
  8. What is your operating system, and are all your virus/malware scans okay?
  9. Hello growssb and welcome to the forum Have you tried the usual things like downloading a new install (from a site such as this) and re-installing? . http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds.aspx Also perhaps try safe mode as well. Please let us know if you still have any problems.
  10. You could always try one of kelly's korner fixes http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm scroll down to number 371 fix.
  11. Had no success in downloading this afternoon, so slow I gave up, guess they are busy.
  12. Well done dast , I am sure someone will help you soon in the hjt log part of the forum as you have posted your log there. (which is the correct place!!)
  13. Also JINU make sure you choose save, and not open, when asked what you want to do with the download, and then choose your desktop as the place you want to download to. Install should work then hopefully!!
  14. Hello Icd45 and welcome to the forum. The version you have downloaded is not the latest one. You can find the latest version here http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds.aspx I personally use the slim build without the toolbar as do a lot of other users. Try the new version first and then see if your problem is still there.
  15. Hello dast and welcome to the forum, It would be a good idea to post a hijackthis log. Instructions on how to do this are here http://forum.ccleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=1720 Then go to the hijackthis log analysis section of the forum here http://forum.ccleaner.com/index.php?showforum=12 and post a new topic including your log.

    Java update

I should have been a bit clearer Glen, the one I had to uninstall manually was in C/docs and settings/user/local settings/application data. Hope you weren't too confused by what I posted!!

    Java update

Thanks for that info Glen, however I did do it via add and remove yesterday and I don't have that folder left in c/programs!

    Java update

As far as I know, it is best to uninstall previous versions first via add and remove, reboot and then install new version. (I also use ccleaner before reboot!)

  21. Yes rabbit, "The Fires" is right in what he said. You could also have a look here for another solution perhaps http://www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php/1284
  22. By home page, do you mean the forums ? This is where the update link takes you, can you get there by using this link? http://www.ccleaner.com/update/?v=1.33.382&l=1033
  23. You are more than welcome, we hope to see you around the forum on a regular basis.
  24. Sandy, I would also seriously consider posting a HiJackThis log as your problems may also be due to a virus or maware, especially as you mention problems accessing your banking site. Instructions on how to do this are here http://forum.ccleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=1720 Then open a new topic in the hijackthis log section of the forum and paste your log there with any info and symtoms you have.
  25. It may be my computer, but I find the dark blue writing on the home page quite difficult to read. It is obvious a lot of hard work has gone into it, don't give in !!
