  1. Sometimes the toolbar can be removed by redownloading it and then uninstalling. A corrupt uninstaller sometimes prevents uninstall. Welcome to the forum by the way!
  2. Have you opened your volume control panel and checked to see that none of the mute boxes are ticked? ( I know it's an obvious one, but sometimes we overlook them!) If you are using WMP to play them, open it, tools, options, file types tab, and make sure MIDI is ticked.
  3. Hello eskiboy and welcome to the forum. It may be an idea to post a hijackthis log in the part of this forum which deals with them. Instructions how to do one can be found here http://forum.ccleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=1720
  4. I think that the fact you are able to save your settings using a new user profile must mean there is a problem with your current one. This is not an area I would care to make suggestions on. I found this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151 But would suggest you wait until someone more knowledgable than me in this area gives a few ideas. I take it you ran ccleaner under the new profile without problems?
  5. Hello ScottG and welcome to the forum. I have IE 7 and my favourites are saved in alphabetical order okay. In ccleaner under windows I don't have "delete index.dat files" or "autocomplete form history" ticked
  6. Just thinking of other ideas, such as what happens when you start in safe mode? Also if you create a new user, log off and then log in as the new user?
  7. Here is a 6 page instruction written very clearly, it's worth a read if nothing else as it does explain quite a lot, simply. http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/install_suse.html
  8. Hello dickj and welcome to the forum, It has been discussed quite a lot on this forum recently and unchecking "delete index.dat files", and not having ccleaner run at startup while using IE 7, will solve the cookie problem for now until ccleaner becomes fully compatable with it.
  9. I take it this is what you were talking about tvulcan http://dougknox.com/ Perhaps you could just try this and reboot? As it says, it cannot do any harm even though you say yours already displays this.
  10. Just in case anyone needs to do this, you have to uninstall IE 7 first or Internet Explorer won't work, see here http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=917964
  11. The only thing I have read is on this page about half way down, but it may be a bit of what others have already said, I don't know. http://pcworld.com/article/id,126116-page,...nt/article.html
  12. Sorry Andavari, I worded that wrong. When I plugged the webcam in, the box came up to say windows firewall had been turned off.
  13. I have to decide now which anti-virus to use, so this thread is interesting to me. My year's free CA antivirus has only 14 days left to run so I will have to make a decision soon. CA (formerly etrust) has caused no problems but now intrudes a lot with full page reminders of how many days left I have, and to pay for my next year, although it doesn't do this when using opera!!
  14. I plugged in my logitech webcam yesterday to talk to my grandaughter and windows firewall promptly send a warning that it had been turned off!!
  15. I meant AntiSpyware and frevries has added a bit more info. It's a worrying problem.
  16. In case anyone gets this error message when using CA Antispyware 2007 and trying to open or install spywareblaster, "This program has been damaged, possibly caused by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it." This apparently is caused by CA AntiSpyware 2007 and people are being encouraged to email CA in order to try and get them to do something about it as it is making spywareblaster impossible to run.
  17. Just a few things that may make you smile a little http://www.tallrite.com/LightRelief/food4thought.htm

    IE7 & CCleaner

    Let us know your findings!!
  19. CCleaner is not fully compatable with IE 7 yet. To avoid cookies being deleted don't run ccleaner at startup and untick "delete index.dat" in ccleaner windows.

    IE7 & CCleaner

Hello Hari and welcome to the forum. A workaround for now to this problem is not to have ccleaner run at startup and untick"delete index.dat" in ccleaner windows options.
  21. That's because it's a good program!!
  22. Here is the page with the security apps listed, the anti virus ones which you are interested in are listed first, minus AVG of course!! http://forum.ccleaner.com/index.php?showtopic=7323
