Moderators hazelnut Posted October 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2013 I have read this carefully, can hardly wait for the 'shared endorsements opt out page' to go live. Users are opted in to Google's new scheme by default. In the past, Google gave itself permission to use users’ +1s alongside advertisements unless the user specifically opted out. The new “shared endorsements” are an extension of that setting, wherein Google gives itself permission to take even more of a user’s content and place it alongside ads http://arstechnica.com/business/2013/10/google-will-soon-put-your-face-name-and-content-in-its-ads/ Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
Moderators Andavari Posted October 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) If Google were to do that to me they'd find themselves getting sued with an absurd amount of zero's tacked onto the end of the sum I'd want. Edit: $20 million lawsuit I see after reading the article, I'd want more! Edited October 11, 2013 by Andavari
Derek891
...which is why I don't have a Google account. Or a Facebook account. Or a Twitter account. Or just about any other account. The less they know about me, the better I like it. If you trust your privacy to these mega-corporations, you will find out that your privacy is very low on their list of priorities, regardless of whatever they publish in their privacy statements.. The priority they all have in common, the one above all else, is making money. Period. Start every day with a smile and get it over with. - W.C. Moderators DennisD Posted October 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2013 GMail is all I use, but like others I'm tiring of the google attitude. I like GMail, but I do have other mail accounts.
Alan_B
GMail is all I use, but like others I'm tiring of the google attitude. I like GMail, but I do have other mail accounts. OOOOPPSSS I have just clicked the "Like This" button on Dennis's post and the usual Piriform error occurred "You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day". Looking at the named "users online" I see a Google Mobile BOT is here. Should I now look out for Google publishing my Avatar's "Like" endorsement of Dennis and his guitar

Winapp2.ini
I think it was hyberbole That being said, I hold two google accounts: One for my android / google services, and a separate one with just gmail on it (created long before the mandatory g+ profile). I don't +1 things though, so I don't really see this effecting me. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
Moderators Nergal Posted October 12, 2013 Moderators Share Posted October 12, 2013 How To Opt Out Of Google’s Weird New Ads That Use Your Face http://zite.to/19GQwRb Link is techcrunch, my news app shortens. Oh, I missed that the setting was linked in hazelnut's article already. I also don't + and my avatars are never a picure of me so I don't think they'll be able to use me.
