GUI Gallery - OS screen shots

Whilst I was ferreting around the Web looking for a "Free" download for OS 2 Warp 4 (Yeah I'm an past member of an OS users group down here in Aus.) I came across the following site that could interest some of you folk out there.

What did that OLD OS look like?

It took me back to the time I used (also forgotten about) IMB DOS 3.0, Dr DOS 5.1, GeoWorks 1.0, GeoWorks Ensemble 2.0, RS6000, Mac system 1 & 3, Windows 3, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98 & SE, Windows ME, Windows NT 3.5.1 & 4.0, Windows 2000 etc.

By the way are there any OS 2 users out there? B)

Always With Kind Regards

Tasgandy

OS2 may have been the only OS I never had used.

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

Nergal, I am awed! You apparently have more diverse experience with computers than anyone else here.

Don't forget a special Defraggler version to defrag your Etch-A-Sketch ;)

Good point; it is, after all, a magnetic drive :D

Now if Mac were to take over and release an updated model it would be a: iEtch-A-iSketch

It would most likely play music and phone home as well!!!!!!

Nice find, Tasgandy.

I still have a copy of OS 2 v3 in the box, never opened it. Already warped enough. :P

They took a look at it where I used to work, but then Windows took over the market.

The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-)

Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers.

Not sure, price quotes are all over the map. Might just keep it, it looks "Tootally Retro, Mann" sitting there on the shelf. :D

You might enjoy this trip down memory lane as well

http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9196998/Visual_tour_25_years_of_Windows

Yes Hazelnut, that certainly brings back memories, Windows 3.0 was the first MS product I saw (on a Mates PC) and Windows 3.1 was my first Windows product that I owned. (on a 286 box with a 50MB HD) Following by Windows 3.11, 3.11 for work groups and Windows Server 3.5.1 from memory. It was then I joined Microsoft as a paid up member of the "Black Label Partnership" program that...........OH bloody hell, that was to long ago. I don't think I want to trip down memory lane.......plus it's boring for those who did not take the same trip (for want of a better word).

Anyhow, many thanks for the link as two of my other retired network consultants were also very interested to it all exposed/told in one location, a glimpse of "yesterday or yesteryear" :D
