Sorry Humpty. I keep forgetting how dark humor is frowned upon here.
But I did find it weird that an Oz MS site would have the fix first before the usual MS update site.
This morning my pooter did the update all by its lonesome, as I suspected it would.

OMG. I am in like...shock. YoKenny just supported a browser other than IE7.
Well actually, compared to 5-7 years ago, most big name browsers today are relatively good, as in they're not inherently evil....like the old AOL browser.
Dang, Kenny, that's Opera 10! You sure you wanna turn on a new person to an Alpha testing browser?
Oh, I get it. You and Karl Rove have a few discussions planned ahead.

How do I know that Aussie site's legit? Too many white people in the update/promo. I don't trust it. You trying to scam me, honky?
And hey, where is MICROSOFT'S similar answer to this? Point me to that page.
Honky.

As I mentioned in another thread here...yes. You can use both FF and Opera on the same computer without conflicts.

CA. Is that northern CA or southern CA?

Isn't Answers.com a kind of malware? Maybe I'm confusing it with Ask.com?
Oh, and these are my FF add-ons...hi-lighted are active.

Opera is VERY good. And it's so much better than it was 2 years ago. Many important Firefox-type extensions are already incorporated into it.
Give it a try. You can have both FF and Opera installed on your computer without any hassles. Compare them, see which one you like better.
Filehippo has clean downloads. Bookmark that site.

Even worse than Norton?
I wouldn't know. I never had Norton on this pooter.

And if you uninstall it, it leaves traces of itself you can easily see with Autoruns or Process Explorer. I hate Cling-ons. Live long and prosper.

Opera is a woman on daytime TV.
I'm just glad all these browsers are free. I remember having to buy Netscape for $40 at a store in order to install it on my old Mac.

Perhaps "Corona is brilliant"?

That was the fastest 8 minute video I've seen in a long time. Very interesting. And I couldn't help but think the guy in Finland was part of an international gang of thieves who wanted to blow up an LA skyscraper.
Still, very fascinating video.

Not that you need an other reason to stop using this black hole of a browser

It's funny when cats go after the decorations on Christmas trees.
-
I enjoy the trees outside of my abode as they are. Nice trees. I think I'll let them live.
But I'm not adverse to using pine trees as indoor decorations. Pine trees (conifers) inhale oxygen and put out carbon dioxide, the opposite of most trees.
But the planet's too huge for me to worry about.

Yeah, I can see a Christmas theme coming out of this.

I saw a large moonbow chunk late at night in the 70s once. The full moon was positioned in the central grip of a long cloud formation that looked like a pair of tongs.

Don't you find it a tad ironic that Bit9 will let you read their report on malware only if you sign up with your name & email & vocation?

After 24 hours you wouldn't miss it.

Glad I don't use Greasemonkey.

Scanning and reading, but not removing any registry items, over a period of time is how I learned (roughly) what reg items are needed and which ones are leftovers. This forum is an immense help as to what is needed and what is junk. Stick with it. React slowly, cautiously. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

What worries me is a white Memorial Day.

GIMP is a good replacement for basic Photoshop, but I don't know how either of them would do the same job as IcoFX.
