Yes, How To Geek is the site but I don't see any link there to directly install Win 10 like I did . I just see stuff about ISOs.

And Hazelnut, where is that link to download Win10 directly from Microsoft? I thought you posted it, that's where I got Win10 from, but I can't find that post now.

Thanks again Hazelnut for that ClassicShell link. I went into its settings today and found out how to get back 99% of my old Win7 Start menu the way I had it laid out earlier. As an extra plus I downloaded 8GadgetPack Tools and got my analog clock back. The windows' white header solve you posted only lets you turn the headers blue, but only if you use its generic Win10 desktop. No biggie, I will survive. ( I wonder if WindowBlinds is trying to tweak W10s' GUI these days. ) ------------------ Just looked. They seem pretty peed waiting for a new version that's compatible.

Well Hazelnut, you talked me into it and I installed Win10. So it's all your fault. j/k My first impression was that this looks like a phone app that can't handle Glass or Aero. And what's with the "Hi" intro. What am I? 16? I still haven't found OS/C> anywhere. Too much Win8 filling my "start" box. I remember you linked to something recently that shows more of a Win7 start menu. I'll look for that. Took quite a long time for FF to fully load the first time. I guess the OS was having a fun time figuring out that it wasn't Edge. I do still have WMP so that's good.

A game console. Jesus Christ. I think our ages kind of work against that choice. Is there an adult (big boys, big girls) version of Win10 out there?

I used Opera for about a year, I think Opera 4 or 5. And it was very customizable. I couldn't do everything I could with FF, but almost. Later builds kind of killed that custom feel.

I think Win7 is the best OS so far. If i see the bulk of comments on tech sites saying Win10 can match 7 & do better I'll give it a try, but not till then. I don't give a rats ass about Cortana or syncing or apps or other officey nerdy features.

So far W7 does what I want it to do. Hey, if W10 really is free a year later I may get it. But I heard early on that it'll eventually be a yearly paid service like McAfee etc. Something around US $120 a year. I could afford that if need be. But I bet MS Office/Word will still not come with it. No DVD player or Windows Media Player? Excuse me? My PC is my music source. I would hope that W10 does develop into a home system, and not into a Facebook/Twitter app.

I probably won't consider installing W10 till about a year has passed. And yes, it does sound like MS is using their customers as .dll/driver guinea pigs.
