  1. Well the scan process on V3 seems to be okay. Finished in about 8 minutes. V2 would hang forever on a small file of no importance and I'd have to force shut down.
  2. Does it actually work, as opposed to MBAM 2.0 which never worked properly?
  3. I've heard Alex Baldwin really loves his daughter.

Nah, the kitten minces enough. I'll leave it as it is. But I'm always aware of the season and do enjoy it. It hasn't really snowed big here so far so that's got a lot to do with my positivity.
  5. But Hazelnut, you have to actually like current TV in order to enjoy it. My neighbors have 2 cats. Pepper, and Lovey. I'd rather spend time with them.
  6. Glad I don't have a smart phone or any IOT devices. Compromising desktop PCs is so old fashioned. I'm safer now than I ever was.
  7. 50.0.2 sounds like one of those "if you browse pr0n" scares. Really, I'm not all over the internet like I used to be in 2000. The sites I visit nowadays are seasoned. Like Piriform.
  8. I can beat that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr6lr_VRsEo Awwww so sweet........and now witness the power of this fully operational battle station. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNkniZU4VsA
  9. No Dennis, I didn't create that desktop. I wish I could but it takes a much stronger fractal generator (and super mad math skilz) to come out looking so wild like that. I just lifted it from a site sort of like what Hazelnut just posted. Hazelnut, now I have to look at all those fractals. It's eye candy.
  10. That sounds very similar to what you told me to do (via MS support page), and it worked. Basically I have Win Update service turned off and I update manually.
  11. And I still can't get Malwarebytes to scan my PC without freezing up. They really took care of that +1 year old problem, didn't they.
  12. No, they all installed successfully. I haven't noticed any problems. (knocks on wood)
  13. That's what I said but do you see Hazelnut rushing in for the 'your welcomes'? No. She's playing us for suckers. That's 2 of us she helped.
  14. That worked, Hazelnut! Thanks. I now have 242 updates to download and install.
  15. *****moderator has removed post which may have been offensive to some readers.
  16. You can, but somehow HP knows that that particular cartridge has been spent.
  17. Remember a month ago I said I had no choice but to reformat? I did and the PCs' default is Win7. Since around that time I think I've seen a post or 2 by others here mentioning that MS was discontinuing updates for Win 7. Anyway, after I reformatted I did Windows Update several times and I got some KB stuff etc. but not nearly as much as I normally would have. The last update I downloaded had one item, Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320. After that I tried update and nothing showed up. Not the next day, not ever again. And definitely not SP1. The only thing that came through (automatically) was an MS Essentials (AV) update. Twice failed, 3rd time successful. I downloaded MSE because I had no AV after reformatting. By the way, I have no idea how to turn off or disable MSE. I can't even find it in folders or submenus. Yes, I downloaded from the assisted tech link. I'll try again sometime later doing what you suggested but not right now. Both previous times were a +6 hour ordeal. Thanks Hazelnut.
  18. I tried this a few days ago and never got past 99% installed. Twice. I think it has something to do with MS shutting off Win7s' Update service.
  19. I noticed a year or so ago that My cheapo HP printer would tell me that I had a non-HP ink cartridge installed, then it would (eventually) ask me if I wanted to go ahead and use it. So now there's not even that option anymore? Hmm.
