  1. Looks like an Amberlight fractal. I've created & desk-topped quite a few of my own, but this one might've been done by someone else. I don't remember using that palette. Beautiful pic.
  2. Snowpocalypse, Snowmageddon, Snowzilla, Sharknado!
  3. Yeah, we're not expecting snow in June up here either so the feeling's mutual.

Nergal, I made you my executor of state. (Just kidding! ) It's okay now. The po-po went away after a few hours. They had to wait for the coroner to arrive to do his thing. Thanks Nergal, Hazelnut, Login and Winapp. I only knew her for about 8 months, she moved to this community/area back then. But she had a very fun personality and a strong character.

The kind woman in the apt. next door died today so naturally the po-po are staked out watching me. Because I might split, man. I might just take off like a rocket and they'll never realize I had nothing to do with her death. For the past month or so my neighbor has been in the hospital fighting off something that only can be described as something one notch healthier than African Eboli. She survived her hospital care, but died 3 days after I last talked to her after she got back here. Nice lady too. Very independent and vocal. Loved her. But of course the po-po gotta stick around in case of any unknown criminal activity. Plus, I be so bad. Yo, mo fo!

Now that I have uBlock installed & running, should I turn off AdBlock Plus?

...yeeeaaaahh...I have no idea what you just said. Not your fault, you're one of the smart ones. AMO version? Xpinstall signatures? Fx release (WFM on Nightly)?? (My cats' breath smells like cat food. That's how far advanced I am.)

When I tried to download uBlock for FF, FF warns it won't accept unsigned...thingies. It prevents the download.
  9. I basically run WAV or MP3 music files in WMP. Foobar uses drastically lower processor energy which is a big welcome change. I like Foobar but have to get used to adding my immense music collection into it. Kinda tricky when it asks for Files, Albums, or Folders. And I'm not sure I'm sending them in the right direction. And I don't know how to add already made playlists into one larger playlist within Foobar. (I set my Foobar to a Teal setting. Do I get extra credit nerd for that? )
  10. Thanks for that link, Hazelnut!
  11. I remember hearing about VLC and Foobar by you guys on this forum before. I'll try both of those and see how it goes. Off topic: for those of you with Windows 10 (like me) have you noticed a switch from being called File Explorer (that yellow folder that has Music, Documents, Videos, Pictures in it) is now being referred to as Quick Access, and that you can put anything in their using the Pin to Quick Access contextual menu? Lately I've found folders in there disappearing. Had to manually put them back in.
  12. It's a friggin processor hog when running along-side other programs. It causes the fan to go into hyper overdrive. It's just Windows Media Player for crying out loud. What is this "I demand 10 to 15% of all available processor availability"? I'm talking 'music' here, not video. Also, the bass is pretty much mute. Treble and mid-range are at minimums. I'm not using the video enhancements or the WOW feature. Basically just the bare minimums. I've tried Media Player Classic which is excellent in processor speeds. But there's no way to put my hefty "play all' or "shuffle" commands in it. Windows 10 doesn't recognize Windows Media Player Classic as an app, or even a real app. (Yeah, I know. f***ing brilliant, right?) Any suggestions out there?
  13. ( It isn't the same without Nergals' avatar. ) Have a Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Festivus and New Year! And happy St. Patricks' Day!
  14. Mozilla eats babies for breakfast.
  15. Took a bit longer than usual but they did update yesterday (automatically) & today (manually). I have AdblockPlus for FF. I got rid of FanBoys' list cuz you told me to you told me to.
  16. That's the point. I think the whole idea of .NET was to bury the unknown bulk of other necessary Windows programs (other than MS visual C, and anything else related) (more about telemetry, telephony, GPS, etc.) into an un-assumed 3rd-party-esque non-app. The bulk of the population didn't know what it was for. They didn't need to know. It worked, but nobody (like me) knew what it was for. But then again, it's almost Christmas. And Merry Christmas to Nergal because you have the fantastic Grinch as your avatar.
  17. Not being a techie myself I have no idea why .NET was needed. Just seemed like a way to hide a lot of bloat.
  18. Ever since Win10 my DNA centrifuge logon doesn't recognize me.
