  1. IMHO, this is an absolute gem. Link:
  2. Excellent. Thanks Lulu. Do you ever get used to finding things like that in your backyard? If I found something like that undulating it's way across my yard I'd be mortified. Been reading a little about this snake. Doesn't mention cats. I'm kidding. Thanks for the pics, and wear your boots at all times.
  3. This is one of those occasions when you don't want to listen in case it's a familiar sound, but you can't resist.
  4. Cracking find Hazel, downloading that now. Thanks
  5. Another very good freeware Divx to DVD converter is VSO DivxtoDVD, which I've had success with. Once again, it takes a bit of time, makes a smaller converted file than DVD Flick, is simplicity itself to use, and automatically inserts chapters into the conversion. Chapters can be set up manually in DVD Flick. VSO DivxtoDVD is available on a quite extensive and up-to-date "last freeware site". I've dl'd a few things off here, and so far they've all scanned as clean.
  6. Two IP numbers? Every time I check it's different, 7 different addresses so far. The link from JD explains it perfectly.
  7. Yahoo mail beta exclusively for personal stuff. Great interface, and handy Firefox extension with icon on the status bar. Pops up if I have new mail. Also like the tabs feature.
  8. Like I've told you before Hazel, you're a star. That's a great link. I've picked up a quite a bit over the last couple of days, but between you and me, (and the rest of the planet), I have no idea what some of these menu items mean, let alone do. But it's great fun finding out.
  9. Thanks JD, I'll have to do it sooner or later, as you say.
  10. Thanks Mudd, for the Photofiltre link. Been playing about with it for a couple of days and it's a cracking free programme.
  11. Don't have the problems mentioned here, so do I install this or not? Microsoft reckon yes, but updating is becoming a "keep your fingers crossed nothing else is screwed up" sort of occassion. Or am I just being more paranoid than usual?
  12. Hey Robbie, haven't seen you for a while. My service provider is Talktalk, and I always have a direct connection to the internet. No proxies as far as I'm aware. Just ever so slightly off topic here, but your team now has one of the best managers in the country, and a new owner with bottomless pockets. Next season now looks really promising.
  13. One angry toddler. If he was any bigger he'd be dangerous.
  14. A nice read that Humpty, been using Sandboxie for a little while now. Nice analogy used in the explanation.
  15. Ever wondered what the meaning was behind a particular song? Well you might not find the definitive answer here, but you will find the lyric, and a sometimes well informed discussion about where the composer was coming from. Link:
  16. Downloaded it, tried it, ?60 worth ? Stick with Picasa, or anything else for that matter. Of course only MHO.
  17. Nice one my man. Considering that I'm spending the next couple of days trying out different photo/imaging software, that's a very fortuitous find, although Picasa 2 is also my fave. Thanks for the link.
  18. I remember those immortal words being shouted from the TV screen at the start of every episode:- "Herges Adventures of Tintin" That takes me back.
  19. Nice one Hazel. Loved the grannie with the guitar.
  20. I'll have a look at it, although I'm not bothered about subscribing to Napster UK. Although, my son gets back to the UK tomorrow, and I'll casually mention this unplugged stuff. He's bound to buy it.
  21. My son was at Paul McCartneys "Home Coming" concert in Liverpool. First time he'd seen him, and he wasn't what you could call a big fan. He was completely blown away. Now a big fan. Edit: I can only get 30 sec samples on that link. Full tracks available in the USA only. Unless I subscribe to Napster UK, where I can hear full tracks.
  22. She's a big kid rridgely, you were close enough.
  23. PhotoFiltre 6.2.7, English version is free. DLd that to try. Lots of plugins. Thanks for the link Mudd. Some really good but expensive stuff on here, but worth looking at the trial versions. You're right about her friends not having it, and she probably won't have it after the trial period if she doesn't learn how to use her credit card. Thanks for the link Hazel.
  24. Thanks Capman, I'll keep my fingers crossed.
  25. Thanks for trying rridgely. But you know what's really funny? She has a good career, with a good income, but put her hand in her pocket? That's what dads do.
