  1. I'll just wait 30-60 days then play loaded gun roulette with it. I doubt it will be offered to my Acer laptop, none of the major upgrades ever have been.
  2. For something that can always be resident and waiting such as with Smart Clean (and its previous incarnations) it's actually following the behavior of any other program that can remain resident and do an unattended automatted background task by being in the SysTray (AV, firewall, IP blocker, etc.,).
  3. Pro version isn't going to clean it any better! Possibly they need to update CCleaner to clean it as per usual they will always be playing catch up especially when it comes to Chrome/Chromium-based browsers.
  4. Perhaps look for help on the official Amazon Forum: https://www.amazonforum.com https://www.amazonforum.com/s/global-search/restore files data --------------- Supposedly "there is a way with paid for software" going by results in this search (I haven't tried it, so I don't know the results): https://duckduckgo.com/?q=recover+files+from+fire+tablet --------------- One thing I do know since my mother has umpteen different Amazon Fire Tablets is you can re-download your files (pictures, etc.,) if you synced/backed them up on Amazon cloud servers (I haven't a clue if it does that automatically on it's own accord, or if it was something you had to be doing manually all along so good luck) -- anyways that's what I remember my mother doing when she bought her new Fire Tablet, she just had it re-downloaded/sync everything which it was able to do automatically.
  5. The way the forum is configured you can't to my knowledge.
  6. It's been able to clean Edge Chromium going back several versions.
  7. With it misbehaving on two completely different installs of Win10 I wonder if it has something to do with how it's configured to run in Task Scheduler.
  8. I never liked the fact that Flash was baked into Win10 with no ability to uninstall it either via the UI, or via a PowerShell script like how we can get rid of allot of other unwanted stuff.
  9. It would've had Windows Defender by default, and enabled.
  10. Someone should tell them about Windows® 3.1.
  11. Sometimes upgrading Windows may break something, or the CCleaner settings could just be corrupt. If you haven't done so yet you may need to do a clean/fresh install of CCleaner which details: 1. Uninstall CCleaner. 2. Restart Windows. 3. Install CCleaner.
  12. You're asking a question about something that was posted 13 years ago. Instead of waiting for Piriform to fix it you can exclude it immediately on your system -- or disable/untick in CCleaner any boxes that clean Skype. Exclude items: 1. Start CCleaner. 2. Click: Options > Exclude 3. In Exclude click: Add 4. You can exclude the Skype physical folder(s), or files(s) installed on your disk drive, or registry data.
  13. Windows 10 in particular can be finicky with some old 3rd party defrag tools with large capacity HDDs (1TB or bigger).
  14. If your HDD uses the NTFS file system "in theory end-tasking Defraggler using Task Manager shouldn't harm your data" since in the background it's using the Microsoft Defrag API.
  15. Clipboard is partly cloud-based in Win10, so effectively cleaning it may not be possible. Here's another not so old other topic about it: https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/54438-wipe-clipboard-history-windows-10-1809-now-in-ccleaner-561/
  16. I compile my own copy for SRWare Iron Portable. I'm don't use the Chrome Store version due to the buggy release back in 2018 where it would consistently always crash and we had to wait about one full week for a fix. Other than that I don't really like the new UI that much at all, but oh well.
  17. Regular forum members can't edit topic titles. Those of us that have that ability don't usually edit them if possible because when editing them it breaks any URL links on this forum (or elsewhere Internet-Land) that point to a particular topic because of how Invision Power Board creates those URLs now.
  18. With CCleaner being a cleaning program that's different since changes Microsoft makes to Windows 10 can cause a cleaning tool such as CCleaner to have the potential to break something -- which has been the case a few times as seen on the forums via bug posts.
  19. The first bit was posted here: https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/58176-ccleaner-v5667716-very-slow-to-launch-blocking-ccleaner-will-slow-it-down/?do=findComment&comment=319407 What's any software, game, OS, etc., phoning home for: Updates, but mostly Telemetry.
  20. That will only work for awhile, up to the point when Microsoft won't allow an old version to be used at all on Windows, Windows 10 at least and there's a bunch of old versions the don't allow.
  21. Nergal, the site still states: [Updated March-03-2020] Edit: Nevermind, he forgot to change the date on the site, however the downloaded HOSTS.zip file has a 3 May 2020 dated HOSTS file in it.
  22. The previous zip Portable version 5.65 is still on CCleaner.com, just not listed, here: https://download.ccleaner.com/portable/ccsetup565.zip
  23. New entry: [AOMEI Partition Assistant *] LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\Partition Assistant Default=False FileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\AOMEI Partition Assistant\log|*.log
