  1. I went through all those folders, where was not one entry for "bugger". Perhaps because I only use the portable version and have deleted the driver updater and optimizer folders completely from the portable app and just use custom clean? Here is how my CCleaner looks:
  2. Right, I found these, so do I need to delete all thos keys or what?
  3. They used to be in the portable app itself in a file named ccleaner.ini but after the latest version, CCleaner ignores that file if I were to run it on another machine and I have to reconfigure all the settings again then it remembers them on that machine only so it's not really portable this way
  4. This. I have been using CCleaner for years and there is no better alternative. I've tried them all. Some don't clean as well and others have ugly big buttons everywhere to upgrade to their Pro version. Heck I don't mind paying for CCleaner as it's a great tool but not a subscription fee. I already have enough subscriptions, Office 365, Antivirus, VPN, Spotify, etc. If they offered a more expensive lifetime license fee they would get a lot of business.
  5. Luckily I still have a copy of [link removed]Don't forget to unblock the ZIP file before extracting it! "Are you sure you want to run this file?" [Yes or No]
  6. Adding these 2 entries to your HOSTS file will fix the slow startup issue: 0.0.0.0 ncc.avast.com 0.0.0.0 ncc.avast.com.edgesuite.net

  8. Right, luckily I had CCleaner v5.65.7632 Portable in a backup so I'll just use that for now.
  9. Thanks for the clarification Dave. As I always say, NEVER listen to customer service staff! They are muppets.
  10. Hi there, long time CCleaner here. I started blocking CCleaner via the Windows Firewall to stop any telemetry and whatnot or offers to upgrade to the Pro version. Only with this last update blocking CCleaner's internet access seems to slow down its startup big time. It takes about 7-10 seconds for it to start. I have a very fast laptop (Area-51m with an NVMe SSD) so it's not my laptop that's the issue. Can something be done about this? Many members on the Wilders Security Forums also share my same experience. PS: I'm using the portable edition
  11. you need to right click on the ESET icon and choose update so it will update to the latest definitions then restart your computer. Then it won't be detected
