  1. Not every registry entry that ccleaner (or any registry cleaner) finds should be removed. Only remove what you know you don't need. The above key is a prime example of one to be left alone
  2. Edge runs in the background and must be closed before cleaning can occur (check task manager for any edge occurrences)
  3. Starting with edge, ccleaner must have all browser windows closed and any applications that use edge to render must also be closed
  4. No not camera//card. Card from camera in reader. Remember if it is in the camera, it is in PTP mode when you see it there. Is the icon a little camera like the lower one shown in this image. Or does it show as the upper camera icon and shoe a letter in parenthesis? Example: (F:) If it is the lower that is PTP. You need to put the card in the reader not the camera.
  5. Explorer sees the card in the reader? I thought you said it didn't, isn't that what we are trying to do here, in order that recuva can see the card it must, in the reader, show as a drive in explorer
  6. There is no difference in the recovery power of recuva free and recuva professional sorry to tell you.
  7. Which brings us back to the formatting idea... If you run disk management (type it into your start menu search or right click on "my pc" and choose manage then choose disk management from the left pane) with the card, that lost the images, in the reader. does it show the disk? Also what windows version, as it'll help me/us provife more specific troubleshooting
  8. Uh, have you been using the card? This would make your chances of recovery near nil, even if we were able to get it to mount on Windows
  9. Ah ha and if you upgrade from a machine with WMC installed you get dvd pack for free...sweet
  10. If by early on you mean at least 10 years and maybe never. http://www.maximumpc.com/microsoft-addresses-windows-10-subscription-fears-with-10-year-support-commitment/ 10 years is about 2 OS cycles for those type who hang on to the old insecure windows or 5 for the people who get the newest version within a reasonable (read a less than a year). And I think it's Windows media center (Microsoft's xp-7 attempt to be tv) that won't be supported, not the removal of windows media player. This is because the Xbox One is their newest (read third) stab at being the living room. My guess it Holo will be the fourth. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Windows_10#Removed_features
  11. Really....ok not gonna touch that flopping fish....sigh! time for uncle @nergal to take his/her/its pills I guess, grumble grumble.
  12. Honestly I'll be a guinea pig to save having to buy a new os. I can understand why one wouldn't want to download it this day/week/month but to wait a year, I think your gonna miss out... but personal preference and what not
  13. I'm advising my peeps to turn off wifi-sense as soon as 10 is downloaded, but the last line of this article is too precious not to share with you all... Why this Windows 10 feature is freaking everyone out http://flip.it/54dvZ (Shortner is from my flipboard news app, the link is cnn, bold above is headline if you wish to search CNN for it )
  14. Check your task manager and make sure all instances of edge are not running
  15. It deleted 35 GB, I'd say that takes a long time (especially if you enabled any secure erase options in ccleaner) A first clean (or one which has had a long time between cleaning) will also be big and take a while.
  16. Is the option (in ccleaner) set to only delete recycle bin older than 24 hours?
  17. My guess is either your morherboard drivers need to be updated to fully announce temperature to WMI for Windows 10, or we (the userbase) are waiting for the next iteration of speccy for full Windows 10 compatibility
  18. No, because I am not a developer or staff member of piriform. Sorry
  19. Default needs to be changed to false on the above entry
  20. Ccleaner is not a replacement for proper, proactive security software. While I appreciate that your story worked out, ccleaner is not a security software and does not per se clean a computer in the same way or as an effective way to remove malware.
  21. While I won't say I'm definite about it, it should work as that part of windows hasn't, to my knowledge, changed between 8.1 and 10. I could be wrong though
  22. Re:slim build they are always released a week or so after ccleaner is updated, this is the current math the developers use for ccleaner. If /s doesn't work it's likely, though I don't know for sure as I use the portable, the Google installer.
  23. See this discussion starting here http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=44063&do=findComment&comment=264290
  24. This is no different from your other thread is it? I've closed this thread, stick to the other. If I've misread and they are indeed different bugs you can pm me and I'll reopen it.
  25. I know this is the case for PCs but probably holds true with Macintosh as well. Make sure google is fully closed (with Apple> exit if I remember MacOS commands) and that any of it's background existences (including google sync (part of setting I believe), cloudprint, ChromeApps etc)
