  6. I have a Brother All-In-One MFC-240C USB attached printer on my XP Home system and I like it. Buying replacement cartridges can cost more than the printer originally cost so I found a refill company Island Ink-Jet that refilled the cartridges for one tenth the cost of new replacement cartridges. It has one startup application that provides ink level monitoring and it does not "Call Home" nor check for updates.

  10. Yup that's the problem. 120 DPI will cause problems for other applications as well as they are designed to use the default 96 DPI characters to fit in the space for the text display. I know because I did that once to try to make screens readable to my aging eyes.
  11. They are in the same place on my XP SP3 systems.
  12. MarineDoc, welcome. Save the CCleaner.ini file thats in C:\Program Files\CCleaner on a Flash drive or floppy.
  13. Please read and follow directions so that the application developers can assist you: http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=12840
  14. I find it is finicky all the time. Sometimes I mark an item to show all the time then after a few reboots the icon disappears and when I check its setting is back to Hide when inactive.
  15. That's good. Homer speeds up the browser and can substitute a small image in place of the site blocked by the HOSTS file http://www.funkytoad.com/content/view/14/32 I like HostsMan and Hosts Server because of the log function of HostServer that can also display the referer of the site that is trying to display adverts that will be blocked by the HOSTS file.
  16. I tried HostXpert and did not like it. I use HostsMan and its companion HostServer: http://www.abelhadigital.com I use both hpHosts and MVPS HOSTS files managed by HostsMan and it will Merge the files deleting duplicates.
  17. Yea but the CIA, FBI and Interpol can examine the hard drive if you insist on doing nasty things.
  18. Well I wish you would keep your clouds with the acid rain so that it would not kill the Musky, Bass and Pickerel
  19. I just downloaded and ran the latest CCleaner 2.08.588 update from FileHippo and avast! never complained about it being infected. I have never had any CCleaner download infected by Zlobe. The user's systems where not infected via CCleaner but as Zlob is mutating so fast there are many ways that a system can become infected especially if they are not protected by MBAM Resident, SpywareBlaster, Windows Defender or WinPatrol.
  20. Updated to v1.14 to resolve minor issue.
  21. Its missing hpHosts and a HOSTS file manager like HostsMan: http://forum.hosts-file.net/viewtopic.php?...13f98dd0098334f http://www.abelhadigital.com

  23. When I went on courses to the USA often we were given complimentary copies of USA Today by the hotel I was staying at that had a map of North America but somehow the Weather stopped at the US border. It seems its better now.
  24. Wasn't that Wilfrid Brambell in A Hard Day's Night (1964)? As the saying goes Don't Throw The Baby Out With The Bath Water. So don't discard the use of hpHosts HOSTS file for the sake of two entries that you can delete quickly that I did to see the site. Why not update your Profile to fill in your Location?
