  1. It is still optional to uncheck the toolbar during install.
  2. The toolbar is optional. O.P.T.I.O.N.A.L. You don't have to download it You don't have to install it See also http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/optional
  3. There are three different versions of 1.27 available for download: The full version with the toolbar The basic version without the toolbar The slim version w/o toolbar and English language only Click on 'Other builds' on the main download page.
  4. That is exactly what the developer has written in his original announcement.
  5. There is a new beta version 1.27.255 available from today. Use it to test the update - you will see that all your settings will be preserved.
  6. Not to everyone - I have the Google toolbar installed on all my browsers on all my systems.
  7. Actually, if you read the Beta 2 announcement, it says This means that there will be a version available without the toolbar.
  8. Did anybody who's complaining here actually read MrG's announcement?
  9. This is not the only free program that installs the Y! toolbar, other - much larger - companies do it as well. Example: Adobe Reader.
  10. Thanks for the warning - I wouldn't have noticed the addition of that garbage toolbar. I am very disappointed, but I can understand that someone has to pay for the development cost of this free product.

    Freeware?

I agree with 'lokoike', but in this day and age we have indeed to be careful what freeware we are going to install. There are a few very good free antispyware products on the Internet, but there are also some very dangerous ones, equally free. Download them, and they will immediately infect your system with dozens of spywares. The tools will then identify them, and you will have to pay to remove them. This is just one example of dangerous freeware. It pays to be careful! Regarding Ccleaner; it has been around for quite a while, and it has won worldwide recognition. As 'acooldozen' suggest above, go and look for independent Ccleaner reviews all over the Internet. See also this topic.
  12. I think it is merely a matter of putting the copied portion into a QUOTE tag; then it doesn't look like "stolen".
  13. Options -> Cookies.

    app clean

It will mostly clean temporary files of these applications, as well as the list of recent documents.
  15. I agree - my suggestion was too simple. This will probably not allow individual users set up Ccleaner options differently. But not sure, since the options are kept in HKEY_CURRENT_USER. I also agree that an install option would be great.
  16. Just move the Ccleaner folder (containing the shortcuts) from your Start Menu folder to the 'All Users' Start Menu folder. These will remain even after you update Ccleaner to newer versions.

    Command Line

Currently there isn't, but I think it is a good suggestion.
  18. What do you want to clean on other drives? If standard applications are installed on other than C: drive, they are cleaned too. If files on other drives are sent to the recycle bin, they are cleaned too. If your TEMP file folder is located on an other drive, it will be cleared too.
  19. That does not happen to me - on Windows XP (Pro) SP2. I don't know what windowblinds is; it could be causing it?
  20. But it does sound like a bug to me. Hopefully that can be fixed soon.
  21. I think it is highly unlikely that anyone wants to uninstall hotfixes after they have been working fine for a while. However, I have one question: after removing the uninstallers, will the updates still appear in Add/Remove Programs? If not, how do people know what windows updates they have on their system?
  22. I run Ccleaner every day, and I never experienced any problems with Outlook (2003). Can you describe what you did? Do you have Office 2003 checked in the Applications tab? Did you run Issues? Did you let Cclenaer take a backup before that? ... I just did a test - added a few tasks, shut down Outlook, and ran Ccleaner (not Issues). After restarting Outlook, all tasks are still there, and I can open them.
