  1. Why were you using 9.27 in the first place? 9.5 is much nicer. If 9.5 worked for you why did you retire Opera? I use Opera now most of the time although I still use and like FF a lot.
  2. I used to find that too but not any more with 9.5 version. I have come across many sites that did not work well unless Opera identified as Opera. Yahoo Finance which I am in several hours a day works much better when Opera is set to identify as Opera.
  3. I have Opera set to identify as FireFox on iGoolge. I used site preferences for it not the global setting. I found iGoogle still worked well if I set Opera to identify as opera but it loads faster identifying as FF.
  4. Don't know what to tell you. iGoogle works great in Opera for me.
  5. I'm not talking about a tool bar added to the install. I'm talking about the actual Foxit Toolbar that is part of the GUI of Foxit. It contains the ad. I think there is several different things being discussed here. The ad Dennis is referring to is the one that shows up in the Foxit GUI. I don't know what you are talking about YoKenny. I have never seen a addon toolbar with Foxit. Could be because I use the zip version not the installer.
  6. The ad appears on the tool bar. You can right click and remove it with other tool bar components but it appears every time you launch Foxit unless you use the method Dennis figured out a while ago.
  7. They probably put a stop to it intentionally. Big surprise there
  8. No I took that pic from my yard
  9. Would be even better with Avira. Avira is much lighter on resources than Avast and with a better interface, better detection rates, and faster scans.
  10. I know you don't need Spelling Cow in FF or IE but I am curious if it works with them for you.
  11. Always believed you when you said it didn't work for you. It works perfectly form me in Opera, FF, IE7, and Maxthon.
  12. Make sure to use it right. Activate the bookmarklet than type your text. This will check spelling as you type and Spelling Cow will work properly. Don't start typing than activate the bookmarklet because it messes up that way.
  13. I use the free version of A-squared just for scans and I don't have a problem with it. The full version has real time protection.
  14. You can get the full version for free today http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/a-squared-anti-malware-35/
  15. I have both those and they work great. I just mention Spelling Cow as another alternative. Spelling Cow also checks your spelling as you type the other two do not.
  16. Thanks for your expert input MR pro
  17. Thats too bad because it works great here for me on all 3 browsers. You can't seem to catch a break.
  18. You aren't using it right. It works fine for me here with Opera. You need to click the bookmarklet first than start typing in the text field. It works fine that way for me. If you type first than click the bookmarklet it messes up like you said. How does it work for you with FF and IE7? Where are you clicking the bookmarklet from? I just tried it from the main menu and it works perfectly. The key point is to click the bookmarklet first than type.
  19. I recently found this bookmarklet that checks spelling as you type in FF, Opera, and IE7. Just click the bookmarklet and and start typing in the text field and it checks your spelling. It high lights mistakes in yellow and when you click the high lighted mistake a drop menu appears with the corrections. Just another alternative for a spell checker and does not need to be installed. http://www.spellingcow.com/favelet.html

    Full Stop

Try going Windows Services and disabling them there. With Avast you can disable many of the process form the system tray icon if you right click on it and use the menu that pops up.
  21. Yeah and this is what Microcrap came up with after 5 years? There is a reason why Vista took so long and then when it finally came out it is crap. Microsoft peaked with XP. It's down hill from here. I would like to see them on the scrap heap with some of the other arrogant companies that are there now like the previously mentioned Ford and GM. Microsoft will take a while to decline to that point but it will happen. Took several decades of stupidity from Ford and GM but look where they are now. It's not if but when they file for bankruptcy. They are done and they deserve every bit of it. I compare them to MS because of the dominant postilions they once held in their industry and how far they fell. I see this for Microsoft.
  22. I will be buying a Mac before I buy another Windows OS. Once I do I am pretty sure I will be switching permanently and give Windows the boot for good. I will keep my XP machines as long as possible but I don't see myself getting another Windows OS again. I don't use anything Microsoft except the OS. I have replaced all the MS apps with something else. IE7 with FF and Opera, Out Look Express with Thunderbird/Gmail, Explorer with Exlorer2, Notepad with Notepad++, I could go on and on but I have literally dumped everything MS except the base OS. That will be dumped next. Microsoft is going the way of GM and Ford. Down the toilet were it belongs.
  23. Dennis, Now that you are a forum cop do they give you a gun
