  1. Ahh, that'll be it. thanks for the reminder Andavari.
  2. what is your OS? which was the last version that did work?, have you found one? for example, the version I've stuck with is v5.40 - so try that if you haven't already.
  3. restart you PC into Safe Mode (hold the Shift key as you go through the restart sequence. them run CC in there and see if that helps. that way there should be no browser related background task running causing CC to skip. if that works, when you start the PC normally and CC tells you it has skipped things, it's probably because those programs and their related background processes are still running. looking at Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) will confirm that.
  4. ok cool, so you have the Pro version which givers one year of priority support and auto-updates. after that year, it still stays Pro and you still retain the extra features like Monitoring and cleaning all user profiles but the support and auto-update stop. so when was that version first activated? basically, if you don't want to renew your license, you have to get the updates manually.
  5. g'day and welcome to the forums. can you provide you Windows and CC versions? do you have the free or Professional version of CC? if you have the Pro, it sounds like your 1 year license has expired even though you have the latest version of the software.
  6. be buggered if I know why then. as I say, works for me on Win10, using CC v5.40 - what are your OS and version?
  7. check the system isn't still using the default location, go to c:\windows\temp ands see if it has files? and do the same to d:\windows\temp, are files actually going there? in CC, right click on System > Temporary Files and hit Analyse, when done, double click the line showing the results to see a detailed list. you should see C: and D: locations listed. (C:\ because some programs have c:\windows\temp hardcoded in and are too lazy to check the TEMP and TMP system variable)
  8. also makes it hard when we can't read the language all the errors are posted in.
  9. he has another thread here; https://forum.piriform.com/topic/52178-can-anyone-tell-how-to-access-data-in-case-virtual-disk-is-not-accessible-error/?tab=comments#comment-297319 which is being responded to. I'll lock this one.
  10. does the same happen with v1.31 or v1.30 ? (previous versions available at FileHippo) Speccy does a lot of calls to the WMI Service to do the heavy lifting so I'm guessing how it does its thing with either OS is different somehow. you can fire up an elevated command prompt and type wmic and hit Enter. here you can access all the WMI info that the Service uses. for example, to see your drive info; type logicaldisk where drivetype=3 and hit Enter.
  11. .vhd files are accessible with 7-Zip. not sure about .vmdk ones. I've recently switch from Oracle and VMWare due to them not working with the latest Win10 and the workarounds being bigger than Ben-Hur. I'm using Win10's inbuilt Hyper-V for virtual PC's and love it. however the XP VM didn't have the network drivers for my modern mobo - no worries - opened it's .vhd file with 7-Zip and copy/pasted whatever files it needed straight into a folder on the .vhd
  12. any reason you are running reg cleaning at all?
  13. what is you OS and Office versions? have you unticked all the Office entries under the Application Tab, in the Application group?
  14. having a SSD, I always change my TEMP and TMP user and system environment variables away from C:\ drive. CC for me is picking up the correct, changed location of my temp folders. how did you change the c:\windows\temp to d:\windows\temp ?
  15. to stop hibernation, start an elevated command prompt and type powercfg -h off when the defrag is done, if you want it back on, type powercfg -h on for me, since defragging takes so long and keeping it in any state even closely related to 0% is completely lost as soon as you start using the PC, why not just use DF this way; click on the File List tab and hit Analyse click twice on the Size column header to sort by descending size and then group select the first 50 files, or first couple of pages or those files > 50,000KB's with that selection, click Defrag Highlighted repeat those steps for the Fragments column and select, say, those with > 10 frags that way you only organise the worst offenders and you get the best result for the least effort. and to help speed that process, don't waste time potentially defragging junk. start an elevated command prompt and type in cleanmgr /sageset:1 and hit Enter. tick all the boxes and hit OK. now type cleanmgr /sagerun:1 and wait for both boxes to automatically disappear. then do your defrag.
  16. it gets a few things wrong now and then; wrong temps, type of drives, graphic card memory and in your case, available slots. all I can say is it doesn't hurt to get a second opinion from another program source and do a visual inspection where ever possible. the Admins and Devs do know about these issues but no word on any sort of solution as been made to my knowledge.

G’day Ren and welcome to the forums. have you tried uninstalling it, rebooting the PC and the reinstalling?
  18. and to add to that, for me, when a post does not follow the forum rules, I will remove it.
  19. can you provide the Temp folder (and subfolders) name, and the INCLUDE ? does it work if you reboot the PC in Safe Mode? what if, say, you use CC v5.40 (available from FileHippo)?
  20. Works for me. what version are you using?
  21. How long have you been using that version? what is your AV a software? do you use MalwareBytes Premium? have you tried uninstalling, rebooting and reloading it? if still no luck, try the Slim or Portable builds, or an earlier version (available from Filehippo).
  22. as long as they keep abreast of any option/GUI changes to the list of programs they cover.
  23. if the license applies to a PC (rather than a user), then I don't think you are entitled to reuse it on another. as to your old work email, can't you log into your Member area and in Account Settings, update your Email Address?
  24. let's start from scratch and see if it helps... uninstall your current version first. then go into the Program Files folder for CC and delete its contents (keep the .ini file if you have customised settings) download the latest build from here; https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds reboot the PC then install CC from your downloaded file. then go into CC, Options, About, Upgrade to Pro, and type in your license key.
