  1. some Kaspersky users reported that either fresh installing or updating to their latest manually (v19?) allowed them to run CC v5.43. but yeah, with the dogs breakfast that is v5.43, there's plenty of ticked off users and many have reverted until a stable version is released.
  2. first up, CC should only be removing left-over installation files, not any of the software itself. next, I'm not sure why "a few days later, the shortcuts disappear" - that should happen straight after CC finishes. and then, with the option unticked, nothing related to nVidia should be touched. there should be no desktop shortcuts that point to the installation(driver) folders. when you install the nVidia software, do you select the option to do a Perform Clean Install? back when I used to have a nVidia card, I would only choose that path as I believe that process removes all previous drivers (and data?) for nVidia. this is the entry in CC for nVidia; CC only looks in the c:\nvidia folder so if you really wanted to stop CC cleaning nvidia, then next time you install it, use a custom location during the install process, say, C:\MynVidia\.
  3. do you run Windows Home Server, Kaspersky or MalwareBytes Premium? what is your OS and actual version of CC? there is more than one issue with v5.43 and many users are simply reverting to previous versions until the next release. older versions can be found on FileHippo; https://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/history/ personally, I've left mine on v5.40
  4. in conjunction with CC are you using winapp2.ini or any other enhancements? can you show a screenshot of the nVidia section in CC?
  5. g'day david and welcome to the forum. can you tell us what version of Windows and CCleaner you are running? and what happens when you click Run CCleaner? any error message, does the progress bar show any movement?
  6. sadly, it's a long standing problem of Speccy - reporting wrong temperatures. it has been brought to the attention of the Admin team.
  7. that's great news. sadly there are others still experiencing the some issue. have you tried the new versions of CCleaner and Speccy to test they are also reporting your SSD correctly?
  8. as you are aware, yes, it's a long, looonng, running problem with Speccy, AND SSD's being reported wrongly, AND motherboard temperatures showing as alarmingly high. it's at the point that I am starting to feel how any of Speccy's data can be used reliably. and yep, we are only Mods, not Devs, and have simply the extra task on the forum of enforcing rules and bringing these issues to the eyes of the Admin team.
  9. What version of CC do you use? has this always happened or just since a CC update? have you tried unticking all the options under Chrome and turning one on at a time and running CC till you find the culprit?
  10. what version of Spyshelter are you running? the free anti keylogger hasn't been supported since October 2016. I installed the 14day trial of the premium version and had no trouble scrolling up or down in CC - but then, I'm leaving my CC version at 5.40 until the mess that is 5.42 gets resolved.
  11. doh!, that would have been a good idea.... hang tight, I'll test that theory.
  12. with the new releases of Speccy, Defraggler and CCleaner, users are reporting HHD's and SSD's getting reported wrongly. this was an attempt to fix a long standing issue in those programs where SSD's were not being recognised, or were reported as HDD's and in some cases where HDD's were flagged as SSD's. for those people, the new releases seem to fix their wrongly reported drives, but now other people have been effected - sort of one step forward, two steps backwards. the Admins are aware of the issue, so hopefully they'll nut it out soon.
  13. some known issues with the version of CC you are using is with Kaspersky and MalwareBytes, do you use those? in the meantime, revert to an earlier version of CC until the next release. previous versions are available from FileHippo.
  14. I gave it a spin but didn't find a need for it in my setup. with the security settings in Win10 these days, and my adblocker, MalwareBytes Premium, Windows Defender and HOSTS file, I sort of have covered everything Spyshelter offers. it did seem to be a nice wide-coverage security program though and if it was still in the XP or Win7 days, I'd probably have it on my PC's.

try it and find out, it won't hurt. your license gives you automatic updates and priority support (beyond the other benefits) for one year, so you won't get those features back.
  16. and don't forget to put MalwareBytes back on. glad you found the culprit, and please let us know on you get on with Spyshelter settings, it may help others. I for one had not heard of that software so will be giving it a bit of a squizz.
  17. yeah, sadly this is happening with all the latest builds of Speccy, Dedraggler and CCleaner - but not for all users. whereas the old versions weren't picking up you had a SSD, now some users are finding the new versions are falsely telling them they do now own a phantom SSD. looking on the bright side, at least Piriform are finally tackling the long overdue problem of wrongly (or not even) detecting SSD's. the Admin team is aware of the issue.
  18. if it is Chrome based, then this should get you started; https://www.ccleaner.com/docs/ccleaner/advanced-usage/ccleaner-ini-files/how-to-clean-user-data-from-non-standard-mozilla-browsers instead of MOZILLA, yuou would use CHROME, and of course change the folder location accordingly.
  19. good news. yeah, I've left mine at v5.40 until I feel confident with any of the newer versions and features.
  20. g'day sinibomb and welcome to the forums. do you use winapp2.ini or any other enhancement to CC?
  21. and just to check, you can scroll up using the mouse wheel in, say, Word? firstly, try another reinstall, you never know; uninstall your current version first. then go into the Program Files folder for CC and delete its contents (keep the .ini file if you have customised settings) download the latest build from here; https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds reboot the PC then install CC from your downloaded file. leave it at the Free version for know and test your scrolling works. if yes, plug in the license key to make it Pro. if still no luck, try going back to an earlier version, available from FileHippo. there are many users with Kaspersky and/or MalwareBytes that are having issues with the v5.43 build, do you use those at all?
  22. G’day geoff and welcome. it sounfs like you are hitting Analyse, after that are you clicking Run CCleaner?
