Try defragging your harddrive if you notice a slowdown in performance. Also, make sure you do virus and spyware scans regularly to make sure nothing is running in the background. AJ

Most likely that's what happened; if it's low quality, then maybe it got screwed up with an on/off surge. Just make sure you buy a high quality one, such as Antec, and have the computer connected to a surge protector. AJ

Can't you just set it to none in the Properties tab??? AJ

Actually on my other computer, I had something similar happen. Back a LONG time ago, I had downloaded Kazaa, and let it install the spyware that came with it, but I quickly removed it with Ad-Aware. I downloaded like 3 songs, and shut it down at the end of the day. I booted my computer up the next day, and all my icons were there, but it seemed as though everything had been uninstalled. The system was eventually wiped out and totally cleaned (with a jacked copy of Win 2000 Pro !) Been fine ever since, but a few months ago, the floppy drive stopped working, and the sound card icon disappeared, and only works with certain things... I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the cards, but to no avail. I think it needs a clean wipe, and I'm thinking about converting it into a Linux machine. AJ

In talking about Limewire, are you talking about the search history? Because whenever I use CCleaner after using Limewire, or just shut down Limewire, the history is gone. What gets cleaned in Photoshop?? AJ

It does..but if the video card doesn't support it, it can't use it. NVIDIA cards in the 8000 series and ATI's new 2900 series (and lesser version of each cards) allow it. However, they are only for desktops so far. AJ

I was wondering about upgrading...but also about uninstalling the older version. It hasn't found anything in a while, while AVG has found tracking cookies for Firefox. I'm most likely gonna uninstall it. Quoting Andavari, it is weird to remove it off of my hard drive after having been there for so long. AJ

My friend has an older Dell Inspiron laptop that got a virus on it...it was causing his computer to overheat because it made the CPU run at 100%. After 10 minutes, it would reboot, and then keep rebooting, until it was turned off and left alone to cool. He eventually had it reformatted, and its fine, but he went out and bought himself something similar to this. Just as a side note... AJ

Go to Start>Run> Type in 'dxdiag' > Click Yes and then take screen shots of the main tab and the display tab. Then run the Crucial Scan again and take screenshots of that page so I (and others) can determine what is best for your system. AJ

Under the Internet Explorer Tab, do you have the Auto Complete box ticked? I'm not a moderator, but it might help. However, since the Safari Browser is new, there has not been an update since the release of it. Most likely the team will add cleaning for it with the next version. If not then, then most likely with CCleaner2. AJ

I don't mind kittens, but I hate adult cats. Unless you've grown up with them, they never like you. Up until last summer, we had an 8 year old Black Lab / Newfoundland mix female.. size of a Lab, fur of the Newfoundland. Shed a lot! She had a weird disease... it really sucked...had to put her down... name was Abby. My mom couldn't go through the grief again.. so we didn't get another dog. Dogs still rule!! AJ
