Maximum PC already looked at it, and tested a motherboard by Asus - the P5K3 Deluxe Wi-Fi AP Edition, which has guaranteed Penryn support (code name for Intel's next CPU, which is based on Core 2, but is produced on a 45 nm platform.)
The problems they see with it are that it is really expensive, and even though the speeds are faster, the latency has gone up, almost to a painful level. They are suggesting on holding out and waiting for both price and latency to come down.
