  1. Thanks everyone. I got it fixed. I deleted the account in Comp Mngmt, then it allowed me to rename the Guest account my roommate's name. I still wish that I knew what happened, but oh well. It's still a bit of a mystery to me.
  2. Does anyone know the answer to my question? thnx
  3. Well IE7 isn't an issue any longer. The only remaining issues are WMP 11, and SP2. And before anyone asks "why would you ever need to uninstall a downloaded version of SP2?", it's because if anyone ever needs the option of a repair installation, the downloaded SP2 has to be uninstsalled prior to the repair install.
  4. So far we know that if you have downloaded and installed SP2 then that will be removed. As well as WMP 11. It used to remove IE7, but MrG fixed that in the last release.
  5. Well Hot Damn! The account user is listed there. If I delete it from there can I recreate it in User Accounts, because it still doesn't show up in User Accounts.
  6. The problem E is that feature doesn't ONLY remove hotfix uninstallers. It also removes Program Uninstallers. If the hotfix uninstaller option only removed hotfix uninstallers, then I would deem it safe, but that isn't the case as of yet.

    CCleaner 2.0

That's why I was laughing so hard. Doesn't the board automatically edit those 4 letter words? Or didn't it used to? I've never seen word show up on here before. Or maybe everyone else is kind enough to add the bleeps? temporarily hijacked...sorry

  9. Yeah, maybe a screenshot would be helpful.
  10. OMG! LOL No, it's not pi$$ off! First of all. My previous instructions were wrong I just noticed, so I am assuming that you realized that where I said press the hammer button, should have been hit the GO button. If not then do it again by pressing GO, and not the hammer. Okay, last idea. This a long shot. Have your OS CD ready...you will prompted to use it when it is time. Launch DAF > then click the Hammer button (lol) > SFC Scan > Go > Reboot. I will have to wrack my brain if that doesn't work. Sorry about messing up the previous intructions.
  11. Okay, maybe I am not understanding. When you try to fix the selected issues none of them are being fixed? Or are just 2 of them not being fixed?
  12. Yes, I just looked and the account is not showing up anywhere. But when I try to create the account, Windows is still displaying the messege telling me that the account already exists.
  13. Oh. Well I already looked, and the account is not hidden. Thanks!
  14. I have tried both of those suggestions. The account does not show up as a hidden account, and the account is not listed in TweakUI. Thanks. Any and all suggestions welcome, please and thank you.
  15. Okay, I have just stumbled across a bizarre situation. A while back I made an account for my rommate on my computer. After running a permissions repair all of the accounts except for mine were turned off, and I haven't gotten around to turning them back on until now. When I go into User Accounts it only shows my account and Guest. So I clicked "Create New Account", and named it my roommates name, as I did before. What is strange is that it tells me that her account already exists! But it is not showing. Does anyone know what is going on? I have never heard of this happening before. Thank you in advance. Kristin
  16. Hello and welcome The issues relate to the registry, and therefore cannot be removed with limited rights. Administrative rights are required to remove those registry issues. What you could do, is go to your control panel > user accounts, and give that account administrative rights. Then log onto that account and fix the issues. After doing that you can go back to the control panel > user accounts, and change that account back to limited rights. That is the only way that I can think to do it. Good luck!

    PopUps?

You have already said that. But I thought that Messenger, and Windows Messenger were different. Dam Smarta$$!
  18. Did you actually Install the VB runtimes, or did you just download them? Also, what Tarun said.
  19. Have you tried using CCleaner to remove the Yahoo toolbar? CCleaner > Tools > Uninstall If you can't uninstall it that way. I suggest that you follow the guide and post in the HJT Forum. Good luck.
  20. Well this is my suggestion. Download and run DAF. When DAF opens, a restrictive policy box may appear. If so, click the remove button. From there, click the green check mark, then the hammer button. After DAF has completed, reboot your pc and try CC again. I have only 1 more suggestion if that doesn't do the trick. Let us know how it goes.
  21. Did you install CCleaner from the Admin account, make sure that you did. And you can only Fix Issues from an Admin account. If that isn't the problem, then try updating your Visual Basic Runtimes. Let us know how it goes.
  22. How will mru's affect the size of the window? Hi tempac, and welcome. Do you have CCleaner > Windows > Advanced > Window Size/Location Cache checked? If so, uncheck that box. That setting will reset any saved Windows Explorer location and view settings.
  23. Probably a smartass, but what does it matter? He is the same age as Eldamem (sp?). LOL Don't even worry about it Andavari. Some day the flu will be cured just for you. lmao
