Welcome to the forum. If you are talking about MS Office recently opened, start CCleaner, click on the Applications tab and un-check the Office 20XX check box. If you are talking about Recent Documents off the Windows Start button, start CCleaner, make sure the Windows tab is selected and under the Windows Explorer section un-check the Recent Documents check box.

Or could mean Windows Live Mail. Really need more details for the OP.

Why are you defragging a jump (flash) drive?

I know the product download pages have been redesigned, but the layout/content are obviously still confusing to users who get the mistaken impression that there are 2 versions - a "free" version and a "paid" version.

What is the make & model number of the HDD? Is it an internal or exteranal drive?

What did you do to fix it? Your solution might help another user.

I don't know if Thunderbird is like Outlook Express, but OE's mail store is a group of files (.dbx) that contain email messages. When you delete an email from within OE, the message is not removed, just flagged as deleted. To actually remove the deleted message from the OE .dbx file, I had to do a "Compact Folders" from within OE. Maybe Thunderbird operates in a similar way, but I don't know it's mail store file structure. Does Thunderbird have something like a "Compact" function?

+1 I never defrag my backup images either. Since they are not frequently accessed (except to recover) there is no need and, as Dennis posted, there is an increased risk of corrupting the image.

If the Devs need some more examples, here's mine: The drive is a Seagate ST3120026AS, 7200 RPM.

I think what the OP is talking about is the Speccy "Publish Snapshot..." function. See the Speccy links in my sig for 3 examples.

I did a web search on the full path name C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows and the results were all related to the Windows Search function, not Live. I use the Windows Search function a lot on my Win7 laptop so I started CC & did an Analyze. Three files showed up under Windows MS Search: I let it clean and did another Analyze. All files were cleaned including the 3 Windows MS Search files on the 1st running of CC: I'm using CC v3.10 and those Windows MS Search files were cleaned (I had Windows Explorer opened to that folder and watched as those 3 files were deleted). The .log & .jrs files are part of the Windows Extensible Storage Engine (ESE) that Windows Search and other Windows applications use (like Live Mail & Live Messenger but in different folders). Each file is 1MB.

Works for me too, but I've seen page load problems like that on other websites caused by video drivers and/or problems with java. Captcha uses javascript. Just a thought.

Yup, AV info still wrong for me in Speccy v1.12 - On my WinXP Pro SP3 x86 desktop, the BitDefender AV program IS correctly identified. On my Win7 Pro SP1 x64 laptop, the BitDefender AV program is NOT correctly identified.

Thanks for the follow-up & additional testing, kevinoid. I guess I could always backup the session folder before using the cleaner... just until I'm sure everything is still working properly.

Owning a T410 myself, I find this intriguing. Are you really sure it is safe to clean the session folder? Mine is 5GB with over 8,300 files & 1,200 folders. Is the installation history retained? Would you still have the ability to uninstall an update, if needed? Is there any other "downside?"

Apparently, Speccy gets it's Hotfixes data from the Windows Update History (WUH). After re-imaging my Win7 SP1 x64 laptop, the WUH was cleared, but all the updates are still listed under Installed Updates. A web search for the problem gave many topics on the subject, mostly on MS forums, but no real solution. Most replies were of the, don't worry about it, no big deal variety, so I'm not concerned. This topic pretty much describes my scenario. The WUH will populate from this point going forward as updates are installed. As a result, the Speccy Hotfixes section is now blank. Previous Speccy Snapshot showing Hotfixes. Current Speccy Snapshot showing no Hotfixes. I decided not to open this topic in the "Bug" forum, because I don't consider it a bug, per se. I just wanted to let other users know what happens if the WUH gets wiped out. Also, I wanted to let the developers know that the WUH can get wiped out and maybe there is a more reliable source, like the "Installed Updates" list from which Speccy can pull it's data.

No Setup subfolder. The only thing there is: %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live\SqmApi The SqmApi folder is empty.
