  1. Here's the link for the .cache PF.zip: http://www.sendspace.com/file/resisw I couldn't find the Setup location on WinXP.
  2. I have WLM installed on WinXP... what do you need? AppData\LocalLow doesn't exist on WinXP. But I see it on my Win7 laptop - The Setup folder is empty and so is the tmp subfolder. I've got the contents of the .cache folder zipped - a little over 23MB. The msi's don't compact much. Let me know if that is what you want.
  3. I usually check all the files in the list & defrag them all. Haven't had a problem yet.
  4. That's what I did - untick unknown file type detection. No problems since.
  5. Discussed in this topic. Uncheck the MS Antimalware checkbox in CCleaner.
  6. I see the "funny" ( on my WinXP desktop, but not on my Win7 x64 laptop.
  7. Yes, it's the same on my 32-bit WinXP system - no Speccy64.exe file was installed in the program folder.
  8. They are both in the installer and will be detected correctly by the installer. The shortcut on the Windows Start Menu correctly starts Speccy64.exe. This is what is in the Speccy program folder on my Win7 Pro SP1 x64 laptop:
  9. You must mean User Account control (UAC). Nothing short of turning off UAC, I'm afraid.
  10. Here are all the command line switch options: http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/advanced-usage/command-line-parameters
  11. There must be something additional factoring in here. I am running CC 3.08 on my Win7 x64 laptop with Windows Log Files checked and the scan does not hang. I just ran it and 6 log files were deleted.

    Ccleaner

What do you mean by "infected?" Infected with or by what? Can you give us an example? Which Windows OS - XP, Vista, 7?
  13. I would agree with you on this. I think we have to consider Piriform's target marketplace - the novice or inexperienced user. Putting too powerful a tool in the hands of a novice is inviting trouble. You would see a whole different kind of posts showing up on the forum from these users after they clobber their systems and blame CCleaner.
  14. The crashes you're getting may be stopping Speccy before the debug log file can be created.
  15. You are correct, there is no "debug tool." You are not reading the instructions correctly. It is telling you to manually run the Speccy64.exe program with the /debug switch added to the end of the command. From the Windows Start button, type the word run and hit Enter. Type in the full path to the main Speccy program and add the debug switch, like this: C:\Program Files\Speccy\Speccy64.exe /debug It looks like you are running Win7 64-bit, so your Run line should be the same as mine. When you click OK, this window should pop up. Check all the boxes. Click OK and Speccy will run in debug mode. The debug log will be created in the main Speccy program folder: This is the contents of my log: [2011-07-02 10:09:35] [iNFO ] CPU SDK at: C:\Users\GARY&L~1\AppData\Local\Temp speccycpuid.dll [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor enumerator handle: 0x66B5D60h [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor HardwareId: MONITOR\LEN4036 DriverId: {4d36e96e-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0001 [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor driver name: Intel(R) HD Graphics [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor mirroring driver: False [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor display device active: True [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] monitor device ID = < MONITOR\LEN4036\{4d36e96e-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0001 > [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] continue with monitor device ID = < MONITOR\LEN4036\{4d36e96e-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0001 > [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] monitorNameStr.IsEmpty() [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] monitorNameStr = < ThinkPad Display 1440x900 > [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor driver name: Intel(R) HD Graphics [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor mirroring driver: False [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] continue with monitor device ID = < > [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] monitorNameStr.IsEmpty() [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] monitorNameStr = < > [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor driver name: RDPDD Chained DD [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor mirroring driver: True [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor driver name: RDP Encoder Mirror Driver [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor mirroring driver: True [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor driver name: RDP Reflector Display Driver [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Monitor mirroring driver: True [2011-07-02 10:09:41] [iNFO ] Driver: Try to load driver. 16. Did you click on the link in Hazelnut's post? It explains what you are asking. Click here--> http://www.piriform.com/docs/speccy/troubleshooting-speccy/running-speccy-in-debug-mode
  17. My desktop is running XP Pro SP3 32-bit and I tested your issue in CC 3.08 this afternoon. The sorting worked fine - no crash. I repeatedly clicked on the column heading and the date sort order reversed itself each time as expected. I would suggest running msconfig and temporarily disabling all the startup items to see if it makes a difference.
  18. I am running the same version of CCleaner on Win7 x64 and do not have that problem. I see along list of cookies to delete in the left column. But, I don't use Firefox so that may be the difference. What version of Firefox are you running?
  19. Good question - I thought it DID remove the underlying files. Maybe I've been making a wrong assumption.
  20. I've installed 1.11.256 on my Win7 laptop and got a similar result. The link to my published Speccy file for the Lenovo T410 is in my sig.
  21. Same on my Lenovo T410 Win7 Pro SP1 x64 laptop. My a/v is BitDefender and is not being correctly detected by the new Speccy 1.11.256 on this PC. Just letting the Devs know.
  22. Here is all the information I could find from Piriform about publishing to the web. There is no mention of "how long." http://www.piriform.com/docs/speccy/using-speccy/publishing-a-speccy-profile-to-the-web Another difference you will see in the published spec is NO network IP addresses are displayed that could be used to locate a particular PC. No "personal information" of any kind is included in the published version. So if you need to provide a PC's public IP address, you will have to provide it separately. As I stated, I generate a new spec for my PCs about every month or so which starts a new link. The developers are still working on a few bugs so updated versions are still being released. For example, there is a known issue with some antivirus software programs not being identified and displayed when running on Win7. That issue will eventually be fixed in an update and I will publish a new spec at that time. Since Microsoft updates are also listed by Speccy, it may be important for you to publish a new spec when new Microsoft Critical Updates are installed. Enjoy
  23. Indefinitely, as far as I know. Piriform provides the server space to store the published files free of charge. I would imagine each file is pretty small. I usually publish a new spec anytime I change something on the PC or when Piriform releases a new version of Speccy. Then I go update my forum signatures with the new link. I put it my signatures on several technical forums. It saves a lot of time when they ask for hardware/software information.
  24. When you view Speccy, the GUI will show the Windows key. However, when you Publish Snapshot, the Windows key is NOT included. Click on the links in my signature below to view my Speccy snapshots. You'll notice the Windows key is not included. The Save As XML or Text will include the Windows key so you would not want to distribute those files. They are intended for local use only.
