  1. A few days ago I created a new Skype account which is for my mobile phone (since I have Skype on Android via Three UK). Using my PC (for ease) I added my other account and a few other friends but when I signed out and logged into my main account I didn't get my own add request. Furthermore my cousin who is never off her Skype still hasn't added my new Skype account which makes me wonder if there's a problem. Anyone else notice this problem with Skype?? Richard S.
  2. What graphics card do you have in your machine?? Richard S.
  3. So they're not serving spam burgers then?? Richard S.
  4. There's not much point browsing on mobile sites with a computer because they're optimised for small screen devices. It can be useful if your computer is using a mobile connection because most sites have less images and therefore use less data. The only time I had to avoid using a mobile site was dailymotion because the option to disable "family filter" was missing from their mobile touch site. Richard S.
  5. If it's multisession then you maybe able to recover files using ISOBuster. If that doesn't work I'm afraid there's not much as you can do. (p.s. although ISOBuster is shareware it can run in "free" mode for non-DVD recovery) Richard S.
  6. This is one reason why I never share my computer with someone else and always encrypted my wifi with WPA because someone could try to gain access to your private stuff i.e. facebook account. It's possible your wife had an accident with the browser settings or malware may have enabled this to steal your login details. As a precaution you should run an AV scan of your machine, disable auto complete and change your passwords. Richard S.
  7. You cannot stop a file system from fragmenting it's the behaviour caused by deleting, appending data and downloading (appending) files. Furthermore having files in alphanumeric order won't speed up file access anymore than having them arranged in size order because you also have the hard drive's cache RAM to take into consideration. Richard S.
  8. Wifi b,g is limited to 11 channel slots around 2.4GHz, if you're transmitting on the same slot with another router you'll get reduced performance like some of my neighbours. Having the ability to transmit on the 5GHz band gives you the freedom to avoid clashing with other b,g wifi equipment or cordless phones and thus solving performance issues or drops. Richard S.
  9. Is there a reason why you need to run df.exe in debugging mode?? Richard S.
  10. There's no generic way to read the temperature of graphics cards, therefore anything new must be added in code. Richard S.
  11. You want one of these I've got 2 (second hand) hooked to my sound card, one for input the other output going to my speaker amp. Not only does it make your music sound great but the spectrum analyser adds to the audio experience. Richard S.
  12. The idea of having 2 different frequency ranges was to avoid interference from other Wifi routers, cordless phones and microwave ovens. If you have a wireless N network adapter then you can use either 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz but older ones i.e b,g can only operate at 2.4GHz. Richard S.
  13. You cannot recover files from a CD/DVD drive it's not the same as recovering files from a hard drive. What kind of disc is this i.e. CD-RW / DVD-|+RW?? Did you use quick format or full format?? Was it a multisession disc?? Richard S.
  14. What browser is this?? Richard S.
  15. Download and burn a copy of Hiren's boot CD and then Boot the CD using Mini XP mode. I believe CCleaner is already included in the distro however you could run it from a flash drive. Richard S.
  16. Rebecca Black's Friday gets pulled from YouTube heh - http://digitallife.today.com/_news/2011/06/17/6880526-rebecca-black-cancels-friday-removes-video If you're feeling depressed you could always watch Katy Perry - Last Friday Night instead. Richard S.
  17. Try System Restore (i missed that bit} Richard S.
  18. Apple going too far?? http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/13814378 Richard S.
  19. Slow computer could be: -Not enough RAM -Too many background applications running -Malware / Viruses -Buggy device drivers -Badly fragmented file system -IDE controller using PIO mode. -Hard drive with bad sectors / dying Richard S.
  20. Obviously the file is not suitable for WMP or Flip which suggests the file is damaged. Unfortunately deleted files that show up green in Recuva don't always recover correctly. Richard S.
  21. People who live in the real world know that doing nothing doesn't make bad people go away. Frankly I couldn't care less what Barack Obama watches in his free time it won't make him any better or worse a person. As for Bin Laden and all the other dictators of history, if you wage a war of hate and murder you eventually pay with your life. Richard S.
  22. Where did you get the 5 images, was this via email or a download?? Which folder did you save the images?? Richard S.
  23. Are you sure about that, my CD and DVD burner do not show up in Defraggler list of drives. As for SSD and Flash drives I think Defraggler should still access them, however it should display a warning box before starting i.e. "WARNING FLASH/SSD DETECTED, DEFRAGGING WILL INCREASE HARDWARE FAILURE [Cancel] [Ok]". Richard S.
  24. To clean what exactly?? Richard S.
