  1. Could it possibly be removing something else non-obvious? It is a database afterall.
  2. Interesting read, thanks Willy! I have 16GB of ram and 11.6free at this moment, but only 11.2gb cached! I want a refund!!!
  3. Winapp2.ini

    Notepad++

    It saves a copy of all unsaved files (heh) to %appdata%\notepad++\backup. Backup files are deleted when you save the parent file
  4. I'd personally love to go hunt some mammoths, we should pour a few trillion tax dollars into that project instead
  5. I haven't tried it in a while, it used to be unbelievably slow though, so any improvement would be a positive really
  6. try clearing your cache from inside Firefox to reset it by pressing CTRL SHIFT DELETE You may have shut off History tracking in the Firefox options as well.

  8. Winapp2.ini

    Notepad++

    Thanks mta I've actually been really digging the snapshot feature. Haven't thought to check if the CCleaner entry for the session wipes it out or not, but I've left several files in there unsaved for days on end with no issues so far.

  10. money is just a social construct anyway. Nothing has intrinsic value
  11. We should just plop the solar panels over the roads, if anything
  12. The installer installs both x86 and x64 on the machine as needed and opening the 32 bit version on a 64 bit machine automatically opens the 64bit version.
  13. Debt only matters if someone is coming to collect! but seriously something like half the the US debt is owed to us citizens for bonds
  14. Solar Roadways have caught a lot of attention recently, but I agree with the criticism of them: replacing critical infrastructure with non-future proofed (and rapidly advancing) technology seems both expensive and short sighted
  15. wouldn't [Adblock Backups*] LangSecRef=3026 SpecialDetect=DET_MOZILLA Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*\adblock*|*.tmp;patterns-backup*.ini work?
  16. but what if we extinguished the sun? http://what-if.xkcd.com/49/
  17. That comic is a rehash of this much older one: https://i.chzbgr.com/maxW500/4650672896/hF076FCB9/ @Fluffy Sorry to hear that I've had Moose for ~8 years (though he's at least 12 years old, we adopted him as an adult) and I can't even imagine being without him
  18. Gillarm, I would suggest running adwcleaner to help you kill those. That being said, make sure you download CCleaner either from FileHippo, CNET, or Piriform. To guarantee not being mislead by ads (FileHippo apparently has many if you don't run an ad blocker), download directly from Piriform.com. The executable should be called ccsetup414.exe
  19. He's a bit out of my league, he's just a dapper fellow of indeterminate age between twelve and infinity years old
  20. I do, mostly to remind myself to double check im not deleting anything I want
  21. I only tested with the cache personally, but i suspect yes
