Hello, I just used the registry cleaner in CCleaner and now appear that all installed hotfixes in my system listed in Add/Remove programas are gone! is this a normal behavior? or CCleaner removed my hotfixes!?
do you have hotfixes under advanced checked?

EDIT: I'd like to see backup ✔ by default.
As suggested by dennis the backup should be automactic with out user choice.

my problem is: this is a new computer and I injected files from several sources, can't find anything, so I have to sort out this mess. First thing is to delete duplicate, triplicate and more....
1 GB and 7,000 files is nothing for you???

Hi,
Before CCleaner implemented Firefox's sqlite db optimization, I was using a script which is running sqlite3.exe command line tool "VACUUM" operation
What I don't understand with CCleaner is that ccleaner.exe size didn't augmented, so how do you implemented the functionnality? I presume you don't embed whole sqlite stuff but only a very small subset, please would you clarify it for me?
By the way, Thunderbird 3 and Mozilla Calendar also use sqlite, you might want to add them

i dont understand why ccleaner added sqlite3 compack database. Iv been told by morzilla via email you only need to delete once to reduce size. the file size should be around 50mb,

Hi,
After I run Ccleaner, Firefox takes between 30 sec and 1 min to open. Once opened then closed, as long as I don't run Ccleaner again Firefox will open quickly. But if I run Ccleaner again it will take over 30 sec to open again. I don't want Ccleaner to ignore Firefox as I want it to delete history and coockies but it must be deleting much more than that. I have checked the settings. Could you please help and tell me how to set it up to what I want. Thanks
what firefox setings in ccleaner do you have checked?

My guess is Piriform offers the 35-pass option only to comply with user demand.
Was going to state this. It really is the only reason i can see it being used. But with out it there would be a flood of 35 passes suggestions.

Gutmann is a waste of time, it won't erase anymore than a single pass.
Are you seeing the complete files or just file names/fragments? Can you recover any of them?
Not to mention many of the patterns used was designed for old machines which makes them useles to modern systems. Even gutmann has stated this.
"In fact performing the full 35-pass overwrite is pointless for any drive since it targets a blend of scenarios involving all types of (normally-used) encoding technology, which covers everything back to 30+-year-old MFM methods . If you're using a drive which uses encoding technology X, you only need to perform the passes specific to X, and you never need to perform all 35 passes."

I have a couple of apps that always reproduce new folders, and no way to stop
them from doing this.
Do you know the custom command for deleting whole folders?

ps - I did a few searches and couldn't locate this questions.
If an application is recreating a directory then there should be a good reason for this.
For example if an application you are using daily creates a empty folder on startup then whats the point in deleting it for it just to be created again?
What are the apps. maybe we can help see if there is an option to stop creating of non existent directorys
