  1. Hello wahwah, Welcome Make sure that you have all the browsers checked for cookies and cache including Internet Explorer on the Windows tab and the other browsers on the Applications tab. The new version finds more than older versions. I am using WinXP Pro SP3. Also make sure any of your settings have not been reset, somehow. davey
  2. Click on this link and follow the instructions. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=12840 Cut and Paste the command that is provided. (Use the whole command including the "Quotation marks".) "C:\Program Files\Defraggler\defraggler.exe" /debug Click on Start > Run and paste the command into the Open line. Then click on OK. Defraggler will start in "debug" mode.(You will see [ DEBUG 1] in the banner at the top left hand.) Give Defraggler a little time to connect to all your drives. Once you are satisfied that it isn't going to find any more drives, then exit Defraggler. You will find the log in your Defraggler folder at C:\Program Files\Defraggler . The logs are time stamped. Post your log and explaination at the bottom of the thread that you linked to. Good luck, davey Any more advise just come back. We appreciate your help.
  3. C++ Expand from there, davey
  4. I found it here. davey P.S. If this was added to the forum winapp2.ini I would prefer the Default=False statement. I use the Tab History very frequently and manually delete it in the IE7Pro menu whenever.
  5. OK! If you are not using Raid and the drive does appear in My Computer then would you follow these instructions and run Defraggler in "Debug" mode and post your log ? This will help the developers figure out what is happening . http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=12840 Thanks for your help. davey P.S. The "debug" procedure is updated some but not the documentation. The word Debug 1 will appear in the upper left of Defraggler in the banner. Just click OK if you get the "No updates" message. The log will be in your Defraggler folder.
  6. It is pretty neat. Very striking !!! My mind went immediately to this scene from 55 years ago. This was one of the first color sci-fi movies I ever saw. Outstanding effects from that early period. Take note of what appears at 8:40 mins. into the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGm8V1a0Z3A&NR=1 Does that qualify as an early Google "eyeball" ? For obvious reasons, I was quite surprised to see that Google chose this as the logo for their browser. davey

    Java PROBLEM

Hello, SEE updated information below Start here. http://java.com/en/ Notice under the Download button this information. What is Java? | Do I have Java? | Need Help? Verify your Java with "Do I have Java". If all OK then click on Help Center and it is very informative. You know what your system is and browsers and such. This will be the quickest way to resolve your problem. Good luck, davey UPDATE P.S. There may be no problem with your PC at all. The problem may be with Secunia Online scanner. I tried the Secunia Online scanner and have the same problem as you are having. I have Secunia PSI on my PC and have been using it for several months. It keeps historical data and lets you know what you have added or deleted. You do not have to keep it running in the background. It only loads when I want it. I activate it about once a week and do a scan. It is great for helping me clean out old backup software on my Backup drive. It also allows you to update and delete things with its easy to use GUI. It scans many more programs than the Online scanner. It allows for Simple mode (for less experienced users) or Advanced mode. I have WinXP Pro SP3 with IE7 and have no complaints. http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/ I also use FileHippo.com Update Checker to be sure my other applications are up-to-date. http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/
  8. Hello CCUser003, Thanks for bring it up. Don't be too disturbed, it is just part of browsing the Internet nowadays. CCleaner comes with the default set to clean Adobe Flash Player files. This option is at Cleaner > Applications tab > Multimedia > Adobe Flash Player. However you may not want all the files cleaned. Some users want to keep certain "flash cookies" because they contain things that improves their browsing and speeds things up. Yes, you can use the Include/Exclude options to handle these. It is up to you. Some users leave the Adobe Flash Player option on and use the Exclude option to keep certain "flash cookies" from being cleaned. Some users turn the Adobe Flash Player off and keep all the "flash cookies". The crucial information is encrypted. See these informative posts and threads by DennisD , one of our forum Moderators for more detailed information. Pc Errors

Hello nitros, Welcome to the forums !!! Recuva is not the program that you need for your problem. Use the instructions in this post. Also the complete thread may be helpful for you. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=116036 After doing this, you should have an idea how bad your problem is. Now try to backup what you can before the "bad" drive quits completely You can also use this free utility to test and analyze your drives after backing up . HD Tune 2.55 is the free version and available on the Download page. http://www.hdtune.com/ Best wishes, davey
  12. Hello Mike, And welcome also. !!! Past "cookies" files from various versions of various browsers are now being detected by CCleaner. Some of these files will have to be manually deleted as CCleaner "cookies" deletion has not been able to keep pace with all these browser design changes. Deleting these files may cause the "cookies to delete" list to be correct. Do a "search" for "cookies" and see what you can find. Some users have found old Firefox,Chrome and/or Opera files. A possible problem is being looked into for the latest version of Opera. Please, let us know what you find. Thanks, davey
  13. Hello Konneva, Welcome to the forums !!! Your problem occurs many times because the user does not have all the browsers and other programs closed. Make sure that Firefox is actually closed by looking in Task Manager. Run CCleaner then and see if your cleaning rate does not improve. Good luck, davey

    Slow loading

Hello fr smith, Welcome to the forums !!! You can do these two checks very quickly and also answer the questions when you reply. 1. Load CCleaner and turn off the option at Options > Settings > Automatically check for updates to CCleaner . Exit CCleaner and try loading again. 2. Use this small and fast scanner for malware. The program is free. Get the free version for now. Just press download and ignore everything but selecting the MBAM download site. Don't mess with any free scans or such offered at the download sites if any. I personally used the Download.com site. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Once installed select Update tab and update the program. Then select the Scan tab and do a quick scan. It only takes 5-10 mins to do a quick scan. What anti-virus programs do you have running on your PC ? When was the last time that you "defragmented" your hard drive ? Do you always leave the options on to clean the Internet Explorer areas also ? Do you have the Firefox options set on the Applications tab ? Good luck and keep us informed, davey
  15. Hi asli, Too bad that you had to use such drastic measures. Use the advice in this link to help you avoid getting infected again. http://internetrotsyourbrain.com/rridgely/...eprevention.htm Good luck, davey
  16. Hello alanthomas, Welcome to the forums !!! Your second hard drive should be picked up automatically by Defraggler. Check in Device Manager and make sure the device is having no problems. davey
  17. One of the greatest pictures taken by a human during the 20th Century was taken 40 years ago. Many advances have been made since then. They are celebrating this and something else that began 10 years ago. Curious ??? To get an update use this link. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/main/index.html davey P.S. Don't forget to download your free calendar. I would love to have a cup of Joe in this fashion.
  18. Hello Kartheek D. N. , Thank you for the information that you have provided. We appreciate members like you. Forgive me but I forgot to ask what version of Safari are you using ? Thanks, davey P.S. I am glad to know that it is working for you now. I was also wondering. Since you are now using the latest version of CCleaner, does it automatically clean those Safari files without using the Include entries ?
  19. You are correct about the "searching" also. Every now and then I turn on both Windows search indexers to build up-to-date indexes. Other "search" tools I am not sure of but I am sure that there are many. davey
  20. TweakUI - Expand Logon at the bottom on the left and you will find Autologon. I use it with no problems and you can still have your password applied. You can still have multiple accounts. You may already have installed it for XP since you have been a member for quite awhile. Start > All programs > Powertoys for XP. I also have TweakUI in my Control Panel from Doug Knox. http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_addtweak.htm You can see this post from YoKenny for links for both XP and Vista. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=124092 Also this TweakUI product announcement for Vista users. Tweak UI For Windows Vista Released at S Asia MVP Meet 2008. http://www.winvistaclub.com/e52.html http://www.winvistaclub.com/Ultimate_Windows_Tweaker.html Good luck, davey P.S. I just saw Capman's reply also. Kelly always has "Tweak goodies" that work also.

    Search records

Hello ags, Welcome to the forums !!! As you can probably tell, so far, no MSN users have responded. I don't use MSN either. The other members have you on the right track. If I were you, the first thing I would do is turn off all the options except the option that is on the Applications tab at Internet list > Windows Live Toolbar. Click on this little snapshot and it will show you where to find it. Click again and the picture will be enlarged. http://www.ccleanerbeginnersguide.com/ CCleaner Beginner's Guide.com Bookmark and save to Favorites Hope this saves you some time and gives you what you want. Good luck, davey

  23. Hello asli, If this problem is still occurring then you should follow the instructions in this link. Others that had this problem were infected. These steps will result in verifying a malware problem, removing it and most importantly fixing the damage that has been done. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=17457 Good luck, davey
