  1. Hi Pada, Welcome !!! I am not familiar with the program but since it is a security program I would expect they would do this more than other products. If you just installed or a new version, it may be doing this because it wants something available for the next restart of your PC. Were you supposed to Reboot and you haven't yet ? Good luck, davey
  2. Here is a couple more. http://wareseeker.com/download/nero-genera...0.17.rar/402452 http://wareseeker.com/download/nero-genera....6.4.rar/406938 Good luck, davey
  3. Hi again MilesCh, The Piriform staff is a lot smaller than most people think. The Posting is a little behind the Defraggler development. The "debug" does not actually occur until you run the program just like you normaly would. The "Debug" word now appears up in the Defraggler banner area. Good luck, davey Another member just like you. P.S. We appreciate your report.

Need more exact information to help. davey
  6. You have deadline apparently. Give us some model numbers and program names and such as regards this the cam and cd burner and we will see what we can find. Also PC information. davey
  7. I am not talking about video problems as much as USB problems. I would disconnect the camera etc. Just see if you can reboot with your system as it was before. (In my recent readings I have seen a lot of USB related problems. They were resolved by setting things back as they were. Then at least they could track down things 1 step at a time.) Also check keyboard and mouse connections. Put everything just as it was. Same ports etc. Does your HDD flash codes when it is having problems? Could you have messed up your Bios ? I saw your other post. Are we talking about the same PC.?
  8. Hi Willy2, Start Defraggler and select Settings > Options > Language . Then change language to what you installed other than English. I tested Now I have Spanish and English. Adios amigo !!! Now I have to learn Spanish. davey P.S. You must select the language that you want other than English when you install Defraggler. It looks like Defraggler will start in English since that is embedded then you must change it to what you want when you first execute it. Feliz Navidad !!!
  9. Have you tried to get advice on this Firefox problem at their forum.? Because of the various System Restores and Registry issues fixing, I would recommend reinstalling Firefox 3.0.4 . I would also recommend just leaving the Registry alone. What is this work software that you are referring to? What appears to have been cleaned ? http://www.ccleanerbeginnersguide.com/ CCleaner Beginner's Guide.com Bookmark and save to Favorites New members Advice for CCleaner Start here with this link and follow its advice. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=105208 Also see this link about the Registry and newbies. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&amp...ost&p=96510 davey
  10. I don't have many large files so I changed the MB value to something smaller. Some files were moved to the end(inside) of the drive. I haven't tried changing any default extensions or such yet. What language did you specify at installation ? Did you ask for other than English ? Further discussion should not be here. Please post in the Defraggler Discussion forum and select New topic in the upper right of the forum window. Best wishes, davey
  11. Did you mess with the Registry? If so , did you restore the entries ? davey
  12. Did you try unplugging your Monitor and reconnecting at both ends. It may be a USB thing going on. You might also unplug some of your other USB items before Booting as well. Did you also do any Hardware changes ? Off course try all your Monitor buttons as well. What do you mean by it made an error sound? PC Beeps? Or Windows errors sound ? Good luck, davey
  13. Did you also put the Exclude entries into CCleaner to keep those registry entries from being deleted ? Best wishes, davey
  14. Don't forget to read all the Important Topics at the top of the Recuva Discussion forum like this one. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=14299 Good luck, davey
  15. Hi Haddon, Welcome !!! Hazel's thread is an excellent source. In it you will find links to "bertk". He is a recognized "authority" as regards System Restore and all its ramifications. Norton and other security products do "peculiar" things as regards the Recycle Bin and System Restore . I recommend reading all his data on the subject and related links. System Restore Restore a Windows XP system to a previous State using System Restore http://bertk.mvps.org/index.html Windows Vista, System Restore http://bertk.mvps.org/html/vista.html Best wishes, davey
  16. Hi love2cats, Welcome to the Forums !!! WOW !!! Bad luck and good luck !!! We can help you. The important thing right now is "not to use that PC" if there is some data that you "really" want to recover. Each time that you use use it, you may lose any chance of recovery. We do need to know the following. 1. What OS , edition and version are you using ? 2. Did your brother do any "cleaning or erasing" ? 3. What is your system like ? All on C drive, multiple Hards Drives, space available to "recuva" your data from where it is to where you can save it? 4. What is your experience level? Do you know how to find things and copy them etc. ? davey
  17. Hi jolo, I would not select this advanced option unless you don't mind resetting those special settings that you have selected. davey
  18. Hi badAdjective, Welcome to the Forums !!! Thanks for this information. I was wondering if you will get this reply. Via E-mail ? Please let us know. davey

    MISSED UPDATE

Hello tsszz, Welcome to the Forums !!! Good question !!! The Automatic check for updates ia an option that you can turn off when you install CCleaner. You can also turn that option off at CCleaner Options > Settings . This will save you time when running CCleaner. You can click on Check for Updates in the lower right-hand corner of the CCleaner window at anytime. Best wishes, davey
  21. I could see it all along. I thought Hazel was joking since you had such a "Godly" score. My score was never calculated since they told me at the end of the test that, "All questions must be answered". That was the end of my test session as far as I was concerned. davey
  22. Hello upfront, Welcome I just wanted to be sure that you checked out thread also. It may at least give you some other ideas. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=14936 davey
  23. Hello Sean, SpywareBlaster is not a scanner. It loads entries into your registry to help prevent Spyware and cookies. I use it with IE7 and IE7Pro. You may not need it if you are using a special Hosts file. An excellent Malware scanner is MBAM. Use the free version for scanning and malware removal. The program is free. Get the free version for now. Just press download and ignore everything but selecting the MBAM download site. Don't mess with any free scans or such offered at the download sites if any. I personally used the Download.com site. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Once installed select Update tab and update the program. Then select the Scan tab and do a quick scan. It only takes 7-10 mins to do a Quick scan on a slow PC and 3-4 mins on faster PC. See this link and apply it. http://internetrotsyourbrain.com/rridgely/...eprevention.htm Good luck, davey
  24. Hi Alan, Your information about these programs is correct. I had not realized the Member had posted in 2 different threads. He must have realized his mistake earlier and then started this new thread. I have been responding to his original thread at this link. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=122325 Maybe the moderators can put these together. davey
  25. It is OK to rename it but the last part of the name should be .reg or you have to right click and select Open with then select Registry edit to open it. Using .reg is easier and the other way makes it harder for someone to accidentally restore it. It is up to you. After the restore you should reboot the PC davey
