  1. I wouldn't want to be "or less" in your situation. Maybe it's a cultural thing. Either we have a lot of members with very unusual last names or just unusual for the U.S. I have an unusual last name but there are thousands of households with that name in the U.S. The figures are slanted or they want a lot of us to believe that it was easy to E-mail us with the junk because there are so few with our name that we were easy to find. Watch out for the Genealogy E-mails that may be coming. Or worse "Congrats Soandso. You may be the heir to the unclaimed Soandso fortune !!! All we need is a little money and information to verify this." davey P.S. On reviewing the prior posts I just realized that #336 seems to be a popular number. Maybe it is time for some scans ?

In this situation how have you determined that the "Cookies" are erased and from where? Have you done a complete system "Search" for "cookies" ? It is possible to have old browser files that are left behind, etc. or they have not been cleaned as you may think. 8. Some products like CCleaner have a very good reputation with the "best" of technicians. It is nice to hear your interesting little story as evidence of this. It is surprising how many "bad guy" programs go after CCleaner and it is not really an anti-virus/anti-malware type program at all. It is however very thorough in it's ability to be a SAFE, RELIABLE, and EASY TO USE cleaning tool. Thanks, davey
  9. Thanks for your input. Can you follow the instructions at this link. It will help find what is causing your problem. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=12840 Thanks, davey

Add SUPERAntispyware Free Edition,SpywareBlaster, and WinPatrol to that list. Nothing dodgy at all. I only have one Real-time active at any one time. The others used at different times and kept current. Never know when you might need them, so it is important to have them already installed and up-to-date. None of the scanners have had any conflicts with any activated real-time scanning. That is either Avast or AVG 7.5 . No problems with AVG Rootkit scanning either. Malwarebytes (MBAM) scan has no problem running while Avast is active. For me at least. Update and Quick Scan takes approximately 7-8 minutes daily. Have no problems running MBAM scan with Real-time Symantec either on another PC. All others installed on that PC also. Encountered no problems yet other than MBAM finds things that Symantec doesn't or ignores I quess. I do not have Avast installed on that PC yet. CCleaner cleans them all also. Whenever I want them cleaned, I tick them and untick after. Security logs are of special value to me. davey

Both AVG 7.5 sometimes real-time and mostly Avast. Love them both plus Malwarebytes Free. for quick update and scan. davey

Hi Simone, Welcome to the forums ! You bring up a very important point for many users of Avast4. I am also a user of Avast4. Avast4 is a very good anti-virus program. As such it prevents "Bad Guy" programs from deleting it's files. This is a good thing. If you do not want to see those files reported then you can untick that option at Cleaner > Applications tab > Utilities list > *Avast Antivirus davey P.S. Every now and then you can tick it to clean the buildup of other non-important files and turn it back off.
  15. Hi Ed, They are "good folks". Register at their forum and you should get quick help. I would go here for your specific problem. http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=41 davey

  18. Me too !!! Unfortunately until I came to the forums and learned better. For some Manufacturers they should not call them "drivers". They should call them "driveus", as in "drive us crazy". davey
  19. Hi pillnoodle, Welcome to the forums. Yes, download and install again as suggested. No need to register again. There are "bad guy" programs out there that will try to stop CCleaner from installing etc. I would also suggest doing some security scans. If you find any malware then I suggest that you follow the instructions at this link. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=17457 Best wishes, davey
  20. I know what you are saying but they need the facts just in case. You are a good member in my book and my book is 60 yrs. also. davey P.S. I take it that you are trying out the full version of Malwarebytes for 30 days. The free version has no real-time scanning but it does everything else and it scans so fast !!!
  21. Hi Bob, I was asked if I might have any insight. The only insight I could have provided was the fact that I spent hours downloading some HP crap so I could uninstall it properly. When I went to install it, it conveniently informed me that I only had 254 MB of RAM instead of 256 MB that I said it had and it refused to install. My good opinion of HP was slightly affected by that event. My CCleaner always reports 256 MB. So does my System info and all system checkers like MS and Belarc and a few others. Where HP got 254 MB, I have no idea. Go figure !!! davey
  22. Hello rburrhead, Welcome to the forums. I am not sure what is going on with your Notebook program. CCleaner will remove the Shortcut if you have the option ticked at Cleaner > Windows tab > System list > Start Menu Shortcuts Or Desktop Shortcuts . It will remove the shortcut only if the shortcut points to a program that no longer exists. That is all that should be removed and only if the program is missing. Untick both those shortcut cleaning options and let us know what happens. davey
  23. Hi edallen, I all fairness to Malwarebytes, I should point out that this fact. When you saw that "Download" button that you pushed you were actually at a "download" site and not at Malwarebytes site. You may want to advise Malwarebytes.org about the situation and explain what download site that you were using at the time. Many members from this forum are also members of Malwarebytes.org because the software and malware removal that they provide is so important to all users. This is the official Malwarebytes.org web page to download. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php I am certain that Malwarebytes.org would like to get the facts about this from you. It is very important to you and all of us. Best wishes, davey
  24. Hi ghost, It sounds like you know something about these partitions that you are not divulging ? What is up ? Recuva probably has a better chance of getting at those drives than many other programs. I would give it a try but I am still puzzled by your statement. davey
  25. Hello Ray, Read my post here and follow its instructions to be sure that you are ready. You may have some other things to do before you delete anything. This information is made for you by me to save you time and effort and possibly save some things that you may want to keep. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=116021 Good luck, davey
