If yours is a 64 bit vista it may be your system Recent versions of Windows NT for 64 bit architectures, including Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (x86-64) , Windows XP 64-bit Edition (IA-64), Windows Server 2003 (x64) and Windows Vista (x64), no longer include the NTVDM and can therefore no longer run MS-DOS (or 16-bit Windows) applications. Another possiblity is a corrupt NTVDM file.

This is an error that I have not seen mentioned before with CCleaner. Perhaps you could try to uninstall and then reinstall to see if that helps. Did you save CCleaner in your ordinary program files? Is everything you are trying to clean on the same drive as CCleaner is installed on? I have a Belkin wireless mouse and have never had any problems with it and wouldn't go back to a wired mouse. As for the batteries, I just keep a couple of fully charged ones on my desk to slot in when the others run out. No big deal with a battery recharger Four batteries have lasted 2 years so far.

The backups only exist for issues scan and not for the cleaner scan. You would have been offered the option of backing up the registry issues when you ran the scan. Is it the issues scan that you are talking about ? Also check in options, advanced that the show prompt for it is ticked.

So the second drive disappears after a reboot, but without running CCleaner? It's a really strange problem you have and I am sure very annoying. Andavari and Firery are both very experienced users and have come up with very valid things to try. The only thing I can come up with is to try Dial-a-fix in case something with permissions or windows are mixed up. When it disappears, can you see it in safe mode?

I think you may find that everyone has their own idea of which browser is best. I think it's probably the one you feel most comfortable with using. If someone needs a certain feature and a certain browser supplies it, well that's going to be the best for them. I personally like opera because it suits the way in which I use the internet, but I know people who swear by IE7. Perhaps you could download opera and firefox portables to your usb stick and give them a try without the hassel of installing them on your computer. This applies to the "issues" part of the cleaner, where you are offered the choice of making a backup of the reg entries which are saved in my docs by default. These can be restored by righ-clicking and choosing merge should you need to. This may happen if you have auto complete form history checked in the windows tab under internet explorer. Also to manage your cookies go into options>cookies, highlight the ones you want to keep in the delete column and use the middle arrow to transfer them to the keep column.
