When AVG Tuneup showed that Ccleaner needed to be updated to the latest version, I clicked o.k.
The program did not install the latest version. If fact, the program disappeared altogether. Now when I try to install any of several versions, some several years old, I get the message that Ccleaner installer has stopped working. I tried disabling AVG, then installing Ccleaner to no avail. I also uninstalled AVG. It still says Ccleaner installer has stopped working. I tried the slim and portable with the same results.
I am my wits end on this.
I would appreciate any advice. I am using Windows 7. I have used Ccleaner for years with no issue until yesterday.
TIA
I think this is where your problem may have started (in bold)
If you have AVG tune up I expect you allowed it to ''tune up'' things. A permission or reg file may have been changed.

Thanks again, I just like the layout of the standard version.
Stay safe
The slim build layout is identical to the standard version.
Only difference is you don't get offered Chrome/CC Browser/Avast etc during install.
-
There is no difference in performance and what it cleans.
The difference is that the slim build doesn't offer any additional things at install which some security softwares can flag or stop the install.
-
Download it from here to your downloads or desktop, then install it. Don't install it from your browser.
Try the slim build which is the bottom one in the list.
Are you using Windows 10?
What antivirus do you use.

Can you check in Windows Updates that it isn't trying to do an update.

Here is a more up to date page with the info and faq's on kamo.

The product is not a fake but I do not know why the page was removed.
Perhaps the product wasn't fully ready.

Cached version
From a Google search for Kamo ccleaner you get this where you can click on a cached page.

Apparently so from what I gather. Use the cached version of the google search result)
Can you post a screenshot of the popup please?

You have the latest version already.
It was released 08 Jun 2016.
-
Can you try an uninstall with a RESTART of your machine afterwards.
Do you have any problems like this with any other software?
What other security type software do you run apart from Windows Defender?
Have you altered any settings in Windows Defender?
What happens if you do an install of the Slim Build and don't put a tick in 'release notes' box? (It's last in the list on the Builds page)

Yours is the first post that has been added to this thread for 3 years.
CCleaner doesn't destroy computers as far as I know. I've been using it for almost 15 years, however I don't use the registry cleaner now as Windows 10 doesn't need it (and this function may be hidden in a future update to CCleaner)

Or is it just that you managed to get a post on forum with your firm's name?
(Hope you have a business license)

Can you give a few more details such as which operating system you use.
What security software you run.
Was this updated from a previous CCleaner version.. if yes, how?
-
I knew you'd be one of the first customers
-
I don't think many people will click on your attachment of an executable file. It serves no purpose to attach that anyway.
Instead we need to know what operating system you have.
What security software (antivirus) you use.
Was this offered to you as an update or did you buy it?
If you bought it, where did you buy it from?
Also have a read here
-
More info please.
Freezes where?
-
You really should only use one antivirus.
Is your AV up to date ?
-
So you are running 2 antivirus at the same time?
Can I ask why?
Did you download the free CCleaner version?
Use the SLIM version from here (bottom in the list)
-
Need more info.
What operating system.
Which anti-virus.
Did you update from a previous version.
