I have passed this on to admins.

I cannot see CCleaner mentioned in your screenshot. It mentions 'some security software'
CCleaner is NOT security software.
What antivirus do you use and what other security software do you use e.g Malwarebytes.

However I've found a solution. I downloaded the Hiren BootCD from https://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ This includes recuva. I tested it just now and recuva works normally.
That was going to be my next suggestion

Thanks for your reply. Yeah it's booting that does it and it's annoying. I do think this needs some attention though. Using recuva from a bootable USB is important. It's not just a nothing problem. I'm sure this isn't an uncommon situation - you have a computer that won't start in Windows or even safe mode and you want to recover your data. An obvious solution is to copy the portable version of recuva to a bootable Windows 10 USB memory stick and then you find that the computer boots from the stick fine, recuva finds the recoverable files but then you can't save the recovered files. I'm sure you can understand how annoying that is. I hope you're in a position to get something done about this because it's not right. I would appreciate it if you could have someone investigate. Thanks.
Does the same thing happen if you use a DVD instead of a USB ? (just trying some ideas)

I am running a free edition of CCleaner v 5.67.7763 (64bit) on my Win 7 Pro computer. How do I get rid of the popup asking me to update. I don't want to. The edition I have, together with other programmes gives me all I need so I will not be updating.
Open CCleaner. Select Options. Select Updates. Select perform updates manually.

You report on this has been sent to admins by one of the other mods.

What anti-virus are you using?
Which operating system (Windows 10?)
Can you download it from here? (You can just enter your key to make it into paid version.)

I'm trying to register the CCLEANER pro product. I insert the key you sent me with copy paste, click REGISTER, ok. Then he asks me to enter the name, I copy and paste and click on REGISTER nothing tells me: the name entered does not match the license key. Re-enter the name exactly as it was purchased, including spaces and capital letters. You can check the name specified in the purchase confirmation email.
I repeated it several times but always the same answer. Can you help me understand what is wrong or what is wrong?
opening the program he says: CCLEANER PROFESSIONAL (NOT REGISTERED)

Do any of the things mentioned here help?

CCleaner will just run the Norton's uninstaller for you.. nothing special.
Afterwards always look in program files etc for any leftovers. Very few AV programs uninstall completely.

Can I just ask to make sure that when you select those cookies you are then sending them across to the ''cookies to keep'' list by highlighting one, and clicking on the right-arrow in the middle of the page to send it over to the 'cookies to keep' list (and then same with the other 2 ones you mention.)
