  1. Portable apps run best off a hard drive. #2- Once you have the program extracted (if it needs to be) run it from your hard drive. Configure every single thing in it to suit your preferences. Close the program. It should now have your options saved to it's configuration file(s). Now you simply burn the programs folder to a CD using your preferred burning method. If you want the program to autorun when it's inserted into the drive, also burn a autorun.inf file to it. It should contain something like [autorun] open=progfolder\prog.exe
  2. With 7zip installed, you can save the following to a batch file and copy it to your c:\documents and settings\*\sendto\ folder. "C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe" e %1 -o"C:\Program Files\Various Applications\" EDIT: Oh, I believe you mean in the Launcher. Or do you?
  3. You could make a truecrypt file on it and put the things in it. Then use the traveler disk setup on it and set the drive letter as z or something. I edited my autorun.inf to just add 3 options to the context menu of the drive. [autorun]shell\mount=MOUNT DATA NOWshell\mount\command=TrueCrypt\TrueCrypt.exe /q background /lG /e /m /v "DATA"shell\start=Start TrueCrypt Background Taskshell\start\command=TrueCrypt\TrueCrypt.exeshell\dismount=Dismount all TrueCrypt volumesshell\dismount\command=TrueCrypt\TrueCrypt.exe /q /d
  4. http://filehippo.com/download_truecrypt/changelog/ Very nice new features. Looks like I'm going to install Vista in a small partition for 'Ability to encrypt a non-system partition without losing existing data on the partition. (Windows Vista/2008)'
  5. Neither will get everything. ShellMenuView handles static entries while ExView does COM objects. Depends what you want to do. I need both though.
  6. I use ShellExView ShellMenuView as well.

  10. I judge by that pic that the maximum temperature your sensors can detect is 122C? And is your system water cooled?
  11. I only use speedfan because all I need is the CPU temp in the tray, along with the hdd temp. I set it to put the mobo's cpu temp in the tray instead of the cpu's temp. I find it's more consistent and closer to the real temp.
  12. Does anyone know what the white powder inside a fire safe such as this one is? Didn't find anything searching.
  13. You should be fine runnng the CPU in the lower 70C range. As long as the HDD temp doesn't join it it should be fine around 55C. Unless your drive, mobo or whatever has a built in shutoff point below those they should remain physically intact.
  14. Sounds like a motherboard problem. Do you know if the CPU temperature you're monitoring is the CPU's thermometer or the motherboards one next to the CPU? Does the hard drive temp behave like this?

  16. I use Xpize Darkside along with Super Turbo Tango Patcher. I always run the Xpize reloader before I run the Tango reloader so anything both have is Tango. No more nasty xp icons.
  17. I as well as many others have once accidentally enabled this and not known about it. Talk about annoying, a sometimes huge cursor blinking while trying to read something.
  18. Aardvark - Utility for cleaning up a page prior to printing, and for analyzing a page. VERY useful(for me anyway).
