  1. See if merging this helps: http://DjLizard.net/recyclebin.reg
  2. Eldmannen, you once said it contains spyware; that's what it does. I forgot to thank you for helping DAF's reputation on that one. I have yet to classify all of the things DAF does on my blog page, but I do update that page every now and again, and plan on updating it further. See also DAF's Help button.
  3. Yes, that is correct. Defrag screws chances of recovery, but only by one pass. Advanced forensic engineers can still retrieve data. Yeah, secure-wiping a drive these days takes an ungodly amount of time. If only hard drives were solid-state...
  4. Everyone should always upgrade to USB 2.0 when budget allows, as there is no reason to stay behind. The OHCI chipsets are so awfully non-compliant and buggy... it's best to move to EHCI as soon as possible, and disable the old USB ports completely, out of spite for shoddy technology.
  5. Actually, it's not even a one pass delete. Windows will only mark it for deletion... the clusters are really deleted later, once they have been re-allocated to and written to by a new file.
  6. That's CCleaner for you. PM MrG and ask about the progress bar thing, and the 'bug' in the text that it was 'complete'.
  7. This is so FAQQY. So are about 100 other questions that we keep getting asked.
  8. It had just deleted 2 gigabytes in 277,240 files. This is why it was taking a while. Be more patient. Defragment your hard drive thoroughly after cleaning. Also, set IE's cache to be much smaller than it is. Set it to be about 200 MB. Then switch to Firefox.
  9. You don't have to look for anything, and it's easy to install if you're familiar with the inside of your computer. It's like plugging in a NES cartridge that has no outer plastic casing, and then screwing it down with a Philips screw.
  10. Purchase and install a USB 2.0 PCI card
  11. I figured it was easier to type two quotation marks initially than to change your system settings and constantly rename files right after saving them.
  12. rridgely: It's obvious that you didn't try that [because it doesn't work that way]. When you save the file in notepad, use quotation marks around the filename. "file.in" will not become file.in.txt, thankfully. This is a notepad limitation.
  13. Hasta la vista = until I see you
  14. try: Start, Run... regsvr32 urlmon.dll Failing that, IE > Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab > Reset Web Settings Failing that, download Dial-a-fix and click the 'Fix IE' button. And as a last resort, carefully read this: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;256953 It is about another subject, but you can use it to verify that the settings for the URL file type is correct. If using Windows XP, read the Windows 2000 section.
  15. It's happened a lot since the redesign of the GUI [and seemingly only to Win9x users], and it is probably being investigated. In the meantime, try installing the Visual Basic Run-time kit, which you can find here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb6...-us/vbrun60.exe
  16. That's the only way to phrase the command. It just flashes a dialog for a split second [which says that it deleted it successfully] and goes away. I use Start, Run... methods of doing things for people around here because it's so much easier.
  17. 1.) Start, Run..., net user aspnet /delete It will not affect performance or usability in any way, shape, or form.
  18. Three complaints already about the Swedish Translation so far! Private message MrG and ask him what you can do to assist.
  19. Uninstall and reinstall CCleaner.
  20. It is nice of everyone to write and be supportive, however, I only want three people to reply to this thread: * Eldmannen, * TwistedMetal * MrG

o_O I just said I love Live Update By the way, I work at a computer shop, so I'm referring to when I work on PCs. When an MSI motherboard is in a particular system, I use MSI Live Update
