1984
did my first tour this week-good times. nothing too crazy, and actually a lot of relief from the Use of Force training in the academy. lots of paperwork. lots of overtime, lots of coffee. 1984
Well, graduated from the Police Academy last night. 9 months of training done! We had two recruits go down during the ceremony (we have to march and then stand at attention for about an hour and a half), but I managed through it. I start my first tour (as a full officer) on Monday evening. I requested to work downtown (busiest and most dangerous district-its where I field trained) and got it! It was a very proud moment. My wife and kids, parents, brother, grandmother, and in-laws were there for the ceremony and it was awesome. I'm so excited!
