Corona
Good point. I'll have a look inside tomorrow and see how many slots I have. (Should be 4, but still I'll investigate.) Here's what Speccy says... Winapp2.ini
Ram is not backwards/forwards compatible DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 cannot be used in eachothers ports. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
Corona
Well it seems I have DDR3, and that's what I ordered. So I think I'm okay there.
Corona
Kroozer, I got the ram stick today, put it in the 4th slot and it works great. 8 gigs (7.75 gigs available). Gives me a nice edge on fractal generators. Thanks for telling me about PNY. Here's the Speccy on that PNY DIMM... My other 3 sticks only have 4 each. Either way, it's working beautifully. It's so nice not to be using ancient RAMBUS anymore.

Winapp2.ini
When I order stuff from Newegg it usually gets here next day. One time it got here same day! winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
Moderators Andavari Posted August 29, 2011 Moderators Share Posted August 29, 2011 You must live very close to one of their distribution centers. Whenever I order from NewEgg it averages just a few days, but I've never received anything from there in a mere two days.
Winapp2.ini
I live on Long Island, and the distribution center is just barely over the New Jersey border. Which is fine by me, because that makes it sales tax free! winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
Corona
Sorry I haven't replied recently. I ate a hurricane for breakfast Aug. 28th and had full throttle internet constipation, till late last night. (Good thing you weren't near me last night when I finally got my innertubes back, eh? ) Yeah, I got that ram stick a day later and it was so happy to be in my pooter that it ordered up a hurricane appetizer. I was extremely lucky to still have electric and water after that howler. Many fallen trees in the eastern half of the state (CT) knocked out a lot of power lines. But I lost phone access for 3 days, and TV & internet for 6 days. "The horror...................the horror................." Yet, I live to tell the tale. It felt like I was in the 1920s, clinging bitterly to my radio and trail mix.
Winapp2.ini
Did you listen to War of the Worlds on that radio? winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
Corona
Nope, just the updates on when certain towns would get their electric back up.
Alan_B
Technically the towns still have their fair share of electrons in the cables - they just are not going anywhere ! !
